Friday Finance 7/21/2022: On the road again!

It is time again for another Finance Friday/Friday Finance. This is a series I started where I talk about random bits of financial stuff that I have seen, gathered, or experienced during the week. I hope as a reader you find it informational, entertaining, or both. I also hope it can generate some good discussion and edify the Leo community.

Here I am, sitting on my couch Thursday night writing up my post for Friday. I feel a little bad that I haven't been around on Friday's to directly do my posts, but I think we can all agree that life is more important than anything that is happening on Hive.

It has been a little bit exciting this week as far as finances go. BTC jumped up to the 24k range giving a lot of us a little bit of hope that the bear might be thawing. Of course when it dropped there are probably people who knew and will tell you it was too good to be true.

I think we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel though. Things might get a bit worse, but I think we are on the slow upward crawl to the bull pen.

Listnerds

As I have mentioned before I hit the top 5 on the Listnerds rich list the other day. Just a couple of pieces of bad news regarding that. First, there are a ton of people hot on my heals and I have feeling I am not going to stay there very long.

Second, as I feared, the price of the Listnerds token dropped from a high of 1.5 to 2 hive to .18 Hive or something like that last I checked. Unfortunately, this puts a huge damper on my plans of my Listnerds subscription being a self sustaining way to boost traffic to my blog.

I'm really bummed that the price went where it did. There are likely some people who made a good sum of money dumping their tokens. I am not sure if I should congratulate them or curse the ground they walk on.

It is all part of the game I guess.

Unfortunately, that means that it was a bit of a struggle to get the funds I need to renew my subscription. I think I can do it this week, but who knows what the future holds from here on out. My time on Listnerds might be coming to an end. Which is sad, but I can't be wasting energy on something that is costing me more money than it brings in.

Hopefully things change and I can keep using this great platform.

Greed is god

Anyone hear about Three Arrows Capitol or whatever it was called and them using people's assets to buy yachts? It seems that greed is likely never going to go away. It's too bad, because it really doesn't help legitimize crypto, but I guess the same could be said of cash too.

I look forward to the day when companies and groups like this defrauding their user base are the exception more than they are the norm. Sadly right now, it is just happening way too often.

It is more important than ever to do your own research and invest in stuff that you have a lot of confidence in. If there is even a hit of a red light in your research, it might be best just to skip it.

I dunno, some of these things seem pretty bullet proof and then they go and rug pull us or get hacked. What do you think readers? Will we eventually get past all of this greed?

Something tells me human nature will not allow it.

I dunno.

It's a bit too bad to see your Listnerds journey ending but you can still do a little bit of work by being a free member. It's always a good idea to take a bit of profit every now and then to make sure it can last a bit longer.
