HBD Interest Hack: Claiming HBD interest without HBD in your wallet
HOW TO: Claim HBD interest
... without having any liquid HBD in your wallet.
When we stake HBD on HIVE we earn 20% APR (more than enough has been written about that, but in case you didn't know... now you do... YES 20% APR is a big deal!).
That interest needs to be manually claimed every 30 days though (or it gets claimed automatically with your next HBD Savings account transaction).
The @peakd wallet browser section gives us a really simple way of claiming it by giving us a claim button in our wallet view... but what ISN'T 100% clear, is that we need to have at least 0.001 liquid HBD available in order to do so. If you don't have the available liquid HBD, then you get the following error:
Basically it says: If you don't have the 0.001 HBD, ask a friend to give it to you so that you can claim...
BUT... there's another option:
Simply withdraw 0.001 HBD from you savings, and the interest claim will be triggered as well.

Thanks for the mention! While this isn't a common issue, it can be a little annoying if you run into it and don't have the 0.001 HBD in your account when you claim your HBD interest.
For sure... your average user should be generating HBD every day/couple days, so without the trick, they should be able to claim soon enough.
... but it's still a very nifty hack to know.

You can even cancel the withdraw after starting it and still get the interest.
OK, that's very cool... Where/How do I cancel though? Didn't see an option to do so vie PeakD front-end?

Not sure if peakd supports that. You'll have to ask the peakd developers. I do believe they have changed their "claim" button to withdraw and then immediately cancel.
