My attempt at Hive Journalist for Zealy Campaign

Honest

Let me be brutally honest. I am tired. Before I get in to the reasons, yes reasons, and not excuses let me tell you I don’t like this feeling.

It is keeping me off my Hive and Leo game. I have not posted a long form on Leo in a few days. And when I was at my peak last week, some days I two long form posts out on Leo on the same day. Thanks to the LeoFinance Adoption Campaign on Zealy.

So here I am trying to get something down.

Okay, the reasons. I have been sick, I have had family home, and I am mentally tired. Watching my wife work so hard for the last eight for her family. From planning a christening party, to spending time with her grandson. To making sure her son and daughter-in-law where looked after and enjoying time with her nine month old granddaughter. The one that was christened.

Her working so hard because it brings her some sort of joy and keeps her brain busy. As we approach the nine year mark of her cancer diagnosis.

She can battle.

When things settled down and I am now here with some alone time to get my thoughts out and let my loyal readers know what is going on with me.

You all know how positive I am online. I am Mr. Positive after all. I am the same offline. Both because I want to be and because I have to be.

Zealy Missions

So, as I blew through the video blogs for the Zealy campaign and the Finance Bro I came to the Hive Journalist challenge. Let me go into detail about it for you incase you have not checked it out.

“MISSION 🎯

Write a post on Leo Finance of at least 1,500 words about Hive.

The topic can be anything related to the Hive blockchain, community, tokenomics, mining… anything related to Hive!

You can also choose to make this post about any Layer 2 or Project built on top of the Hive Blockchain.

GUIDE 📚

Use Leo Glossary for at least 10 of the main words/terms in your article, the more you use, the better.

Optimize your article for Search Engines (SEO) with all the good practices from the explanation post.

Tag the post with #hive and include any other relevant tag.

Then, share that post on Twitter using the most important tags so more people see this post!”

The one part, Optimize your article for Search Engines (SEO) with all the good practices from the explanation post. Let me get the links for you. Incase you do not do the Zealy campaign this is some great info.

But before I do, this has been tough for me. And I had to personally think about why it has been tough for me. It sure is not because I am lazy. I think I am just a bit overwhelmed at the moment.

Some people would tell you to take a break when you get to that point. Well taking a break does not solve anything. You have to sit back and look at yourself. You have to figure out the reasons why. That is why I am writing this post. I had to take a long hard look at myself and find out why when something is layed out in front of me, why am I not getting it done. And then I have to push forward.

I don’t know if this post will be accept for the Hive Journalist or not, but one line says “anything related to Hive”. And there is a lot about Hive in this post, also how Hive affects my life, my dedication to Hive, and how Hive has improved my life. So maybe just because I am not digging into Hive itself or a Layer 2 project built on top of the Hive Blockchain or community or tokenmics or mining I might be given some leeway.

I have to be me. I have to pust not only from my brain but from my heart. It is who I am and it is what my personal brand is.

Let me get back to what @anomadsoul wrote about SEO. He did it in two posts. The reason I felt the need to share it in this post was I had to go seaching for these two posts. Luckly I was smart enough to have bookmarked them. As after I completed a Zealy task I could not get back to get them.

Understanding Search Engine Optimization (SEO) 1/?

I am not going to quote or go into details here but I am going to cover the topics. Eric talks about doing Keyword reseach, long tail vs short tail keywords, keyword density and stuffing and gives us some great tools for SEO.

I learned a lot. And in theme with this post. It was a lot. I think I became over whelmed.

Understanding Search Engine Optimization (SEO) 2/?]([https://leofinance.io/posts/anomadsoul/understanding-search-engine-optimization-seo-8dcc0e182a9b2)

In part two he talks about the correct us of H tags. This is something I needed to know. You do to so please read these two posts. Using links correctly, using images to increase SEO, ideal post length for SEO, rating quality on Google and adding a table of contents. I can tell you adding a table of contents never ever came to my mind for a Hive post. It would have to be one long article.

He also supplies some more tools for our use.

One thing I am learing from all this is that you, at least I cannot sit down and wing a 1500 word post. With the word processor I am using I can see my word count as I type and I am just nearing 1000 words. My brain is racing as to what else I can talk about on this subject or do I just go off onto a different path here.

Threads

I different path it is, but still in relation to LeoFiance. When I woke up this morning one of the first things I did was check the May thread count. You see I am trying to hit 3000 threads sent in May to get to the Final Boss- Threads Lion Zealy campaign. That campaign is worth a whoping 10,000 XP.

To my surprise I am in 13th place with 2972 threads done in May. That means over the next four days, including today, I need 28 more threads. Or seven a day. Does anyone think I can do it? Lol. I have already before this writing got more than seven out. I even pumped out a threadstorm already this morning.

I don’t know if people, if you, understand on a personal level of what the LeoFinance team has and is building had done or can do for you. But I will tell you want it is doing for me. As if it is doing this for me then it can do it for you.

Threads has become my number one engagement tool on Hive. I am sure you have hear over and over the importance of engagement on Hive. People come up with rules, like try to engage at least five times a day with five different people. Leave comments on their long form posts. And most of us are bad at that. If someone leaves you a comment always resond to it.

I do not know why we all have trouble with that. Well not all, but most of us. And we should still work on that. But threads as been a giant step forward. I have met more people, I have engaged with more people in one month that I have in the 1392 days I have been on Hive.

My brand reconition had gone through the roof. Things like my curation trail is growing become people know about it. My BBH token is doing well because people are getting to know about it. I can promote my hive-engine node.

Basicly I am building my person brand easier and faster because of threads. Because the engagement aspect is faster, real time basicly.

It is another fantastic tool in our tool box to be successful on Hive. The more tools the better.

The goal when I first joined the Zealy campaign was, I assume like everyone else, was to win first place. For me and I am sure like a lot of other people that goal went out the window when we started to see some people climb to the top fast and with a large number of XP. I am sure some people gave up.

But with most things in life, it is not always the win that counts. Sure winning is always nice. But I think what the Zealy campaign was set out to do, besides the LeoFinance Adoption Campaign, was to make each and everyone one of us better. Better on Hive, better on LeoFiance. Better writers, better at engagement. Make us more rounded Hivians.

I do have a goal to try and finished in the top twenty now. That is why I need the 3000 threads to get that 10,000 XP. And if this post gets accepted for the Hvie Journalist that will be another 700 XP.

So I am just going to do what I always do, be myself, write, engage. But I am going to try and improve everyday.

Be your best, put forth your best effort and look to be better. Stay positive my friends even when it is hard to.

Bradley
