Changing My Focus To Hive, Leo and CTP

"Don't put all of your eggs in one basket". I certainly didn't but instead spread them all over the defi space. Some of them are long-term projects but some require daily attention. One of them is Goblins.cash on SmartBCH. It has been an enjoyable, and profitable, journey playing with bond discounts and staking. However, now it seems it has become somewhat idle. No new discounts for a while, APY fell from 600k to 6k and TVL hasn't risen for a while. It was time to send that asset across the chains and put it to work.

Slow journey towards Hive

So GOB got swapped to BCH and BCH is traveling to Tribaldex. While I'm waiting for a couple of more confirmations I have been playing Splinterlands with the daily focus of Dragon. Right now my focus is on planning how to relocate that soon-to-be arriving swap.bch worth about $120. After swapping it to Hive I'm thinking of splitting the amount between Hive, LEO and CTP.

Why Hive?

The main reason is of course I want to invest in projects I believe in. Secondly, I'm going to increase my overall activity on Hive and this is a great way to motivate myself. I like to work with my investment if that makes sense. I want to put time and effort into growing my account.

For those reasons, I am going to power it up instead of putting it to HBD savings. And besides, the bear season is almost over, right? Right?

Then some LEO

I bought a total of 283 LEO for about 50 HIVE. 80 from that I just powered up to get my LEO power to 200 and the rest will wait for the Leo Power Up day which is 15th of this month.

And some CTP

I promised myself to be more active and to start writing posts more often. Once I've done that I need more visibility for my writings and a great way to get some is ListNerds. My total staked CTP amount was about 200 so my voting power was pretty low. To increase that I bought 800 CTP for 21.5 HIVE. I also decided to upgrade my free account to free to Premium.

This will cost me about 42 Hive but I think it'll be totally worth it since I'm getting more mail per click and can send mail more often. It's difficult to calculate the possible profits but this means I'm getting more LISTNERDS tokens and more visibility for my posts on Peakd and LeoFinance.

Breakdown and conclusion

  • 283 LEO for 50 HIVE
  • 800 CTP for 21 HIVE
  • Premium subscription for 43 HIVE
  • 98 HIVE to be powered up

This is of course not financial advice but instead of just hoping that an asset will go up, I like to take part and build. Now feel like I have invested in the tools that will help me to do that. Also, I am not completely abandoning my other defi projects, but I feel like it's a smart move focus on something you like and have a passion for.

Exactly. Feels a lot more motivating than just checking in daily if the price of an asset is up or down.
