Unforgettable Unatamed: Serpentine Spy

It's been a while since I have written an Unforgettable Untamed post. For those of you who haven't read any of them, I can tell you it's a series of mine in which I take a look at some of my favorite Untamed edition monsters. I have linked the previous ones at the end of this article so check them out if you are interested!

This is the fifth edition and it is starring my all-time favorite monster, the Serpentine Spy.
It's a snake-like creature even though it has hands so I guess it might be still evolving.

Serpentine Spy

Serpentines are naturally sneaky, but their highly-trained spies can infiltrate even the most secure bases in the Splinterlands. They wear minimal armor because they are never caught. Retractable miniature spears are the chosen weapon of the Serpentine Spies; they can be hidden easily and brandished quickly for many uses.

Stats

ATTACK: Serpentine Spy has 2 attack points which used to be enough for me when I started playing during the Untamed era. Back then I used to play a lot with Pyre, a summoner who will boost the speed of a monster by one.

Since the arrival of the Chaos Legion, I have now preferred to use Tarsa with Serpentine Spy. Tarsa will make this one even more lethal giving +1 to attack and also +1 health.

HEALTH: Carrying on one health point by default makes Serpentine Spy extremely vulnerable to enemy Sneak attacks.

SPEED: Serpentine Spy is fast. With three speed points, it can get the advantage and attack first, taking out low-health monsters lurking in the back. It has 3-speed points to begin with and with Pyre for example, it will become even faster.

Ability

Serpentine Spy has the Opportunity ability which makes him attack the enemy with the lowest health.

This is the thing I fell for this monster in the first place! It can easily take out more than one monsters if the opponent doesn't have the same ability and your spy is kept safe. As I mentioned, it will be faster with Pyre and that just might be enough to outsmart your opponent.

Setup For The Battle

I have an example battle to show you just how good the Serpentine Spy can be with its stats and ability. Down below you can see the setup, all the buffs, and debuffs.

My opponent chose Life as their splinter and General Sloan as a summoner. Looking at the setup before all hell breaks loose, we can see that there are a couple of monsters who can pose a threat to my squad.

The first monster I'd like to highlight is Time Mage. This one has the Slow ability which will reduce the speed of my monsters. This could be really bad for Serpentine Spy if the enemy should have an Opportunity ability. Fortunately, this is not the case.

The second one worth mentioning is Pelacor Arbalest, a ranged monster who has the Double Strike ability so he will attack twice in a round.

If that wasn't enough the opponent summoners buff will increase its attack strength to 3 points making it a significant threat.

However, he also has a weakness that could possibly make him easy prey for the Serpentine Spy and that is his low health. In fact, being the one with the lowest health on their entire team will set him as my Spy's first target.

The Battle

Alongside Serpentine Spy, I had chosen Living Lava as a tank, Radiated Brute with the Reach ability, Tenyii Striker with Sneak and Lava Spider with Snipe.

So, I think it's time to watch how did the Serpentine Spy performed and how it all went down:

The Kill List

My Serpentine Spy was absolutely amazing! I couldn't be more proud of it. In the Round 1 it took out the biggest threat, Pelacor Arbalest while my tank was taking hits from every direction.

At the beginning of Round 2 Living Lava was still holding on and the Spy used again his Opportunity ability and defeated the opponent's healer unit, a real turning point for this battle.

In Round 3, Serpentine Spy performed a hattrick by crushing the enemy tank unit, Chaos Knight.

And to complete its perfect night, our hero of the day finished off the withered down Blinding Reflector ending up defeating 4 out of 5 opponent's monsters! If this would have been a basketball match, it would have been over 40-point night for Serpentine Spy.

Conclusion

If I think of Splinterlands, Serpentine Spy is the first monster that comes to my mind. It's a cover guy for the game, totally lethal and totally unforgettable.

At the moment it is priced $2,44 at the market and it falls somewhere in the middle of the Untamed fire monsters when talking about the price. In my opinion, it's worth every penny.

Well done! I like Serpentine Spy though his life is a bit weak but being so fast is great.

Thanks! Exactly, it's pretty much done for if the opponent has more than one opportunity monster.
