RE: Is Work All There Is?

avatar

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

Most of the worlds workers are waking up to the thought Damnit why am I doing this shit?

Too obvious it becomes that work doesn't mean living a good live. Modern slavery becomes obvious and the promise to have a good life when you are 70 and retired...Screw you...we all have exactly 1 freakin life and to just sacrifice it for the good of a few needs to stop.

The pressure is there, no doubt, no work = no food, housing etc. But I have the feeling that we are reaching a boiling point where those who enriched themselves at the expense of everyone else are realizing that too many are waking up. Sure, their asses are safe but I think the system is going to be changed with a big bang because it has reached the limits. "Human resources" are demanding to gain their own lives back. It can't be right that a few actually live their life while everyone else doesn't. Humans are not ants and that will fall on the foot of all of us eventually.

For now most are scared to lose the little they have, for obvious and legit reasons, but if having nothing is the perspective what's next?

Will we see a change for the better? Maybe, but I am not as faithful that we will without a big bang coming with casualties.

I feel conflicted, have I met people who echo that why am I doing this shit sentiment? Yes, but I do know people who are happy to go about the way things are either because they cannot yet feel the pinch, or they don't realise they being boiled alive and accept it as it is,

I feel the pinch believe me, it feels like it gets stronger and stronger each year I can see the amount of time I need to spend to earn the same amount to live and eventually I'll get to a point where my time isn't enough to earn enough and ill fall further behind eating out my savings or what little I have saved up

I wouldn't want another bloody revolution, we finished once just after I was born, I've heard the stories, but I also tend to learn towards your thinking, I feel like the rubber band is stretched and when its snaps there's going to be nothing holding all of this together and it will manifest in all sorts of crazy ways

The pinch is there for a reason, if we want to see it or not. Sure there will always be two sides, there will be people happy where they are at and even not struggling in a way. It is just that the amount of those is shrinking, too many in this world are suffering already.

It is reaching the so called middle class and suddenly those who would have lived a decent life a couple of years ago waking up with less to nothing.

Corona was a fire accelerant because it hit people who would have never thought it would hit them. Suddenly they also find themselves struggling financially with no perspective. And the blank promise of those who hold the wealth of the world is worth shit.

It is for a reason that few hold the wealth while the rest have to share the little that is left of it. We fight with each other for the crumb of bread not seeing that the bread is in the hands of a few "big players". Those "big players" are playing indeed. With the lives of everyone else.

Yeah, I totally see that right now, I know people who were kicked out of the job market and the rest who are doing fine and it's just a case of at least it's not me.

Like they say the difference between a recession and a depression is in a recession the neighbour loses their house in a Depression you the one who loses the house along with everyone else.

In every system where power can be centralised, it's going to be concentrated at the top, I just think that without something that punishes centralisation we're doomed to repeat the same things over and over

That is the biggest flaw of human kind, repeating history. We seem not to learn from mistakes.

It is just now nature keeps kicking our butts as well and while today we are thinking about not losing homes or any sort of wealth we can be glad if all of us are having drinking water in 5 years. Just one example of why things will be rattled up immensely and those thinking their lives will be better by enslaving themselves for the big ones are fools.

Not money will be the biggest problem, resources like water is going to be the thing getting people to fight over.

I know it all sounds like doomsday and very depressed but I gave up on thinking things will change without casualties. Doomsday will come in a way and if it's only nature telling us stop.

There are probably ppl arguing that the strongest survive blah blah blah, true in a way but those are the people selling the dream of equality because on the other hand they are afraid of telling the truth. If they would say hey we are just kidding you and you can work your ass of never reaching a carefree lifestyle and by the time you retire nature is so destroyed that this planet becomes uninhabitale for humans anyway then it would be a fair deal.

But it's not a fair deal and we let them in a way.

Having lived in water shortage here where they literally had a countdown clock to day zero when we would run out of water and all die I know the fear and how it affects people.

We also have had bad electricity shortages so I know that one also plays out in a way and it's total society break down the moment it happens

Money is just accounting resources are what we really value and we will only notice that when the money doesn't buy more resources like in a hyper inflationary event

It sure does sound gloomy and Darwinist and with humans strong doesn't always mean best but most connected and most wealthy. I still have a sliver of hope that we can transition to something better with the help of Bitcoin

But I don't discount what you saying, we humans have a thing for war and not taking the rational approach when the chips are down

I have a little bit of hope as well, even though I don't own any BTC and to be honest still have no clue how to get them. I'm glad that I found my way around Hive sloooooowly, even though the things I may be able to do with my wallet are still somewhat of a mystery. I'm just a little fish in the sea so I count on finding a guide sooner or later lol.

I don't wanna sound too gloomy but as I said, us humans are having a hard time changing things for the better in a normal way so let's keep hoping. 🙏

Hey thanks appreciate your offer a lot. I might get back to you if needed :). Speaking of which, in the Wallet there are some exchanges mentioned. SimpleSwap, Bittrex etc. Any suggestions on which one to use? Those are for trading back and forth right?

It all depends on what you want to do and the country you're in, for me I use Bittrex because I can swap HIVE for BTC and send it on the lightning network so it's stupid cheap to move Bitcoin.

I also use HIVE-Engine, since I can stack small amounts of Bitcoin with all these tokens and HIVE on there it's just trying to get to the threshold to move it takes some time and I don't need to KYC.

I don't really sell my HIVE though, maybe I will if it gets really overbought but for now I just stack em

Hmmm I'm in Germany and have no idea what that means when it comes to BTC. The Hive I just power up which is staking I guess. Lol, I have to dig into that topic. Germany is prob one of the worst countries to be in when it comes to crypto 😂.

If you just want to turn hive into good old Euros then Bittrex and Binance is your best option! Send your HIVE there and you can swap it for USDT which is a stable coin and then you can sell that for Euros or spend them directly using a service like crypto.com.

It’s still way off being user friendly so it takes a bit of patience okay a lot of patience

In South Africa it’s basically impossible to use Bitcoin yet and I e only have 5 exchanges all of which I am not a fan of so I feel you

You have no idea how much I appreciate your hints.

I just leave it as it is for now. I don't have that much Hive anyways and as of now I would have more hassle turning it into Euro because of my personal situation. Don't wanna wake the sleeping dog so to say.

With Binance I heard of a Visa card they offer. I might look into it a little bit but as of now I'm not in a rush.

Bitcoin seems somewhat out of reach for me. Maybe not, but it is a lot for a tech newbie like me. I feel like walking in a dark tunnel with a flashlight and the flash shows a little piece here and there but not the whole picture.

But with time, and a little bit of help, I will dig through the crypto world 😄.

Have a great day 😊
