Vegan/Vegetarian in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

Today I'm going to talk a little bit about something I love maybe too much and that is — FOOD.

I've been vegetarian for about 5 years now and often eat vegan when i can. I aim to eventually become fully vegan but for now i can't say that i am.

Where I lived in Ireland, there was never many vegan/vegetarian options when going out to eat. In grocery stores they had a lot more options but not really in restaurants or take aways. If we were lucky they would have a few options but it was always an issue to find a good vegan/vegetarian place.

Here in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and surrounding areas, there’s so many different places we can choose from that serve just vegan and vegetarian food. It’s so great to have so many options and some of the places are so delicious.

However when it comes to cooking at home, sometimes I do find it hard to find vegan options here in the grocery stores though, which in Ireland was a lot easier as they seemed to be adding more and more vegan foods the last few years. I guess the restaurants make up for it.

One of my favourites here in Playa is a place called Bio Natural. It's completely vegan, not bad pricing and the food is super delicious! It has lots of options on the menu like tacos, burgers, omelette, pancakes, smoothie bowls and so much more. They also have a wide range of drinks and super yummy, nutritious smoothies. The place is really nicely laid out and has a great atmosphere.
