The family is the foundation of society, that was the concept I learned in school when I was in third grade, I remember it like it was yesterday. Today for me that concept has more and more strength every day, seeing the disaster we have as a society. Because people's behavior is determined by family upbringing, since we are the reflection of our parents.

La familia es la base de la sociedad, ese fue el concepto que aprendí en la escuela cuando estaba en tercer grado, lo recuerdo como si fue ayer. Hoy día para mi ese concepto tiene cada día más fuerzas, viendo el desastre que tenemos como sociedad. Porque el comportamiento de las personas viene determinado por la educación familiar, ya que, somos el reflejo de nuestros padres.

On the other hand, the family is the bastion of the human being, "educate the child well and you will obtain good men and women " with values and moral principles. I speak with propriety because that is how I was taught. I grew up in a very large and united family. The first; my mother, father and siblings. Then my aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides. Very close-knit and loving.

Por otro lado, la familia es el bastión del ser humano, "educa bien al niño y obtendrás hombres y mujeres de bien" con valores y principios morales. Hablo con propiedad porque así me enseñaron a mi. Crecí en una familia muy numerosa y unida. La primera; la de base mamá, papá y hermanos. Luego la de mis tíos y primos de ambos lados. Muy unidos y amorosos.

The lack of a father is covered by a good uncle, the lack of a brother is covered by a good cousin. In my family we get used to the fact that the children of cousins, ask for a blessing and call us uncles.

La falta de un padre la cubre un buen tío, la falta de un hermano la cubre un buen primo. En mi familia nos acostumbramos que los hijos de los primos, piden la bendición y nos dicen tíos.

We used to get together during school vacations, Christmas and other celebrations such as birthdays, communions and any event. Motivated to the economic and political situation of my country Venezuela, some of us left and others stayed at home suffering and complaining.🙄😏

Solíamos reunirnos en las vacaciones escolares, en las navidades y otras celebraciones tales como cumpleaños, comuniones y cualquier evento. Motivado a la situación económica y política de mi país Venezuela, algunos se fueron y otros se quedaron en sus casas sufriendo y quejándose.🙄😏

In my post last week I mentioned some activities to stay down to earth and referred to the importance of sharing as a family. Nothing healthier for the mind and heart than that. Those activities generate the happiness chemicals.

En mi post de la semana pasada yo mencionaba algunas actividades para mantenerse con los pies en la tierra y me refería a la importancia de compartir en familia. Nada más sano para la mente y el corazón que eso. Esas actividades generan los químicos de la felicidad.

The last time I had shared with my maternal family was at the wake and burial of my mother. After that, only conversations by phone, chats by whatsapp and the occasional visit from one of them.

La última vez que había compartido con mi familia materna, fue en el velorio y entierro de mi señora madre. Luego de eso solo conversaciones por teléfono, chats por whatsapp y una que otra visita de alguno de ellos.

Happily, last Saturday we celebrated my aunt's 74th birthday. It was a reunion, a wonderful evening hosted for her by her sons and daughters-in-law. Food and drinks in abundance. Good music and even singers were hired. It was really a very nice party, very joyful and best of all very familiar. There was joy, good vibes and very good energy. My aunt was very happy on earth and I am sure that in heaven my mom was too.

Felizmente, el sábado pasado celebramos el cumpleaños número 74 de mi tía. Fue un reencuentro, una velada maravillosa que le organizaron sus hijos y nueras. Comida y bebidas en abundancia. Buena música y hasta cantantes contrataron. De verdad que fue una fiesta muy bonita, muy alegre y lo mejor de todo muy familiar. Se respiraba alegría, buena vibra y muy buena energía. Mi tía estaba muy feliz en la tierra y estoy segura que en el cielo mi mamá también.
