El pasado 2 de noviembre se conmemora el Día de los fieles difuntos en muchas partes del mundo. Dependiendo de las culturas de cada país, tienen diferentes expresiones de honrar a sus deudos. Muchos celebran Halloween días antes, otros hacen celebraciones a la Catrina (Muerte) y así sucesivamente; cada quien tiene una manera especial de venerar ese día.

En nuestro país Venezuela, se acostumbra a hacer una misa en su honor, visitar sus tumbas, llevarles flores, prender una vela en su nombre menciónando y honrando su alma, acompañado de oraciones y muchas otros rituales en ese estilo. "Que brille para ellos la luz perpetua".

Particularmente pienso que, a nuestros fieles difuntos hay que honrarlos todos los días de nuestras vidas. Es mi caso, a mis padres los recuerdo todos los días de mi vida, ya que de ellos desciendo y gracias a ellos soy lo soy.

Para los que creemos en la cristiana sepultura, honro a mis padres, visitando su tumba, llevando flores y sobre todo haciéndole mantenimiento a su panteón.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la conservación y mantenimiento que hice al libro que posa en su tumba. El mensaje casi no se puede leer por que se le borraron las letras, ya que el sol y el salitre borraron las letras.

Los embates inclementes del clima hicieron su parte, yo hice la mía; compré una pintura acrílica especial para contrarrestar los daños del ambiente climático; y pinté las letras para mantener y conservar el mensaje inicial, que en su momento quisimos manifestar a nuestros padres.

En mi caso, nuestros padres nos enseñaron a orarles, hacerles misas, prenderles una velita o llevarle flores. Cualquiera de estas acciones son válidas. Mi madre con estas cosas era muy exigente y respetuosa, la imagen que muestro a continuación, fue el mensaje que ella en vida escogió para la tumba de mi padre. Hoy día moran los dos allí. Por eso nos gusta mantenerles su tumba impecable, porque era como le gustaba tener todas las cosas. Limpias, bonitas e impecables.

Agradezco todos los días de mi vida, haber nacido en una familia con valores y principios morales, agradezco la vida, con sus subidas y bajadas; agradezco que mis ancestros: abuela, padres, tíos me hayan dejado tradiciones, culturas y valores para saber vivir y convivir en el entorno, en un mundo tan cambiante y dinámico como el de hoy, ya que ni remotamente es parecido al que ellos crecieron. Pero gracias a sus enseñanzas hoy, cuento con las herramientas adecuadas para saber que hacer en ciertas situaciones.

Today I want to share with you the conservation and maintenance I did to the book that poses on his grave. The message is almost unreadable because the letters were erased, since the sun and the saltpeter erased the letters.

The inclement weather did its part, I did mine; I bought a special acrylic paint to counteract the damages of the climatic environment; and I painted the letters to maintain and conserve the initial message, which at the time we wanted to manifest to our parents.

In my case, our parents taught us to pray to them, say mass, light a candle or bring flowers. Any of these actions are valid. My mother was very demanding and respectful with these things, the image I show below, was the message she chose in life for my father's grave. Today they both dwell there. That's why we like to keep their grave spotless, because that's how she liked to keep everything. Clean, nice and spotless.

I am grateful every day of my life, to have been born in a family with values and moral principles, I am grateful for life, with its ups and downs; I am grateful that my ancestors: grandmother, parents, uncles and aunts have left me traditions, cultures and values to know how to live and coexist in the environment, in a world as changing and dynamic as today's, since it is not even remotely similar to the one they grew up in. But thanks to their teachings today, I have the right tools to know what to do in certain situations.
