The following photo is my first participation in the #worldphotogarphy community and my participation to ROUND #32 - Fields of the world contest organized by @marc-allaria.

This year 2022, due to the unfortunate war in Ukraine, the shortage of sunflower seed oils worldwide, the European Union authorized Spanish farmers to use a larger extension of their land for the cultivation of plants for the production of oils for human consumption. As a result of this authorization, large extensions of sunflower fields have been cultivated in the province of Valladolid (Castilla y León-Spain).

In June, after a business visit to the city of Valladolid, I returned to my home in northern Spain and made a stop on the side of the road to photograph these beautiful sunflower fields that adorned the entire surroundings from side to side of the road for several kilometers.

Let's hope that soon the war can be stopped and these sunflower fields will also spread to Ukrainian lands.
