Hive Marketing: What If We Did This?
First I need to say this post is a reaction of sort to one of the best posts I have seen regarding marketing of Hive written by @imno . Here is a link to Leo/Hive Search Engine Strategy Could Be Much Better
It's very simple and even more insightful. Everyone should read it and give it some votes while it's still fresh. I won't rehash here so you'll have to actually visit the post lol.
But what got me was that I hadn't really considered this idea and I have a background in SEO and Digital Marketing since those things were even called those things. How did something so simple slip by?
So without telling you exactly what @imno 's premiss was so again you must go read the post, I would submit that if some sort of template was made for Lions or Hivians to use in order to keep an outside reader's attention, I would want them expertly pointed towards:
- Splinterlands
- Actifit
- Rising Star Game
My reasoning is simple. These three daps/games really highlight the range of the hive ecosystem and give outside readers the ability to earn crypto in a fun and interactive way. All from a site most believe is simply about blogging.
Remember, this traffic would be coming from people who find our posts off-chain through google or social media so other than pushing them to interesting articles on the domain (which is quite good for seo), pointing them to seemingly separate entities which highlight the chain and give them simple opportunities to earn for having fun would have a strong appeal.
What say you? Have you considered this type of template marketing before? If you could choose 3 hive related info marketing ads on your posts what would they be? You have mine above so hit the comments with yours.
Thanks again to @imno for putting this idea before the hive/leo mind.

Mine would be Splinterlands, Rising Star and Listnerds. Nothing bubbling under right.

yeah Listnerds is good! I don't use it as much as a should. @actifit is something I use every day. I've earned nicely from it and it keeps me motivated. It's a nice dapp for a bear market. So, I have to keep it in my top 3.

Damn, I really should check out Actifit since it's summer here and after a long winter I have become more active.

my biggest problem with actifit is that I forget to post my results each day. If you get a minimum of 5,000 steps and post you will earn a little afit from them and some hive from voters. I earned quite a bit of afit and hive that way. I sold most of my afit for hive. I should have kept it because it now has some value. I think accumulate afit in a bear market will be good.

Thanks for the tips! Think I'll try it out.

Many have been working on optimizing their articles on Leofinance.
We need a lot to do this.

My intention was to suggest that a hard-coded template be available for use. Perhaps the built-in "ads" could be rotated based on some analytic showing the highest click thru rate or something.

@actifit needs to fix the app. I tried it out and just by shaking the phone, it counts as activity.
I understand there are glitches with dapps but that is minor stuff. It rewards you for steps in the "move to earn" realm and that's pretty awesome. "move to earn" will never go away and that is my high-level point. It's a reason to be on hive and actifit integrates with other popular fitness apps. Let the phone shakers shake, they will get tired eventually. But there will always be fitness junkies.

It is more beneficial to consider Hive marketing as a community. Community focused templates will be very productive. LeoFinance is currently working on this. And when the work is completed, I think it will help communities grow. This means the growth of the Hive ecosystem.

Your post struck a nerve within me.
I use to have several posts after my post, explaining what Leofinance was, what Hive was, and how to sign up for Hive and leofinance using videos from Leopedia. I think I removed them because one comment said my footer was old and tired.
I should have just refreshed it, instead I deleted it.
I agree with you 100% that it is just the start to get people here. But it is a golden opportunity once people get here, to tell them more, and try to get them to sign up for free, then take the whole blogging social media thing for a test drive.
These are great ideas from you and @forexbrokr:

This is really good idea.
Even the site owners work on it, we should start creating Index for us for our own and other Good post and put it in footer that are related to that content.

I would point towards Splinterlands, Project Blank (when it's released), and Actifit. There are too many games on Hive and I think Splinterlands is enough for them to get started.

good point but rising star is so easy and somewhere along the line you get addicted to it. Project Blank will be an awesome to onboard people with but who knows when it will arrive.
