Leo Threads: How To Curate For Hive Rewards (So Far)

It's day one of Leo Threads so it is really the Wild Wild West right now and we shouldn't read too much into what is happening regarding earnings.

Everyone is testing and that includes the devs. I'm in it for the fun but also the earnings. So I really wanted to understand where Threads showed up in our hive blogs and how much voting power they drained from hive.

I don't care about my Leo power or rewards per say, but I'm on a mission to increase my hive curation so here is how I'm doing so far.

It turns out that Threads are simply comments as far as Hive is concerned and they appear in our Hive blogs under the comments section.

And, considering that I give out only 100% votes on Leo, that means that I am giving a 100% vote with hive. Anything less for me creates dust and nobody earns a cent. That is why you might notice that I don't vote up my comment section that often anymore. What I usually do is go to the commentors last post and vote that up so they can be assured not to "Eat My Dust".

So on day 1 of Threads, I devised my ingenious and completely annoying curation plan. I hope it change. But here goes.

  1. I look at the "Thrending" Threads and look for something that has some Leo Earnings. You can see an example of @manniman 's Thread earlier today. It had .86 of Leo as earnings so I suspected that comment might hive some hive earnings as well. You need for the Comment on Hive to have 1 cent of earnings to avoid the dust threshold.

  2. In this example I open Manniman's Hive Comment Section and scroll down to the Comment/Thread I'm looking for and I see it has a pending .38 hive reward which undoubtedly with my 100% vote attached will surpass the dust threshold. see below

In this case both @manniman and myself will earn both Leo and Hive rewards for the effort.

So if you are hell bent on curating for max earnings this is how you do it so far. It is a monumental pain in the ass. However, if want to earn possibly more curation with some automation you can delegate hive to @leo.voter and earn 16% APR paid out in Leo and then sell your earnings to hive. (Another pain in the ass lol)

I'm way into Threads. In my opinion Microblogging is the past, present and future of hive so I've been waiting for it for more than 5 years. This is only the beginning and we shouldn't worry too much about curation but if you do, this is how to do it.

If you have an easier way, please let me know in the comments.

I think it's nice but I don't really think it will take off until the application comes out. So it's pretty much just a comment and the payment structure should work in a similar way.

yes but since 2011 the only thing that has really "mattered" is short form content so it a step in the right direction. My concern is that if nobody earns on their thread people will hop off. So in order to nudge development in the right direction we need to curate threads.
