Like I’d always ask, what better Christmas gift can you gift anyone right now than the loving gift of hive?😍
I can boldly attest to this because this Hive platform is a huge blessing to me and everyone here in my University. I vividly remember my several discussions with @starstrings01 on how hive has changed his life and helped him in times of dire need. The same story goes for everyone here in my university especially as students here in a country where studying and working is not possible and encouraged.

With this joy and happiness in our heart and Christmas celebration already in the air, we decided to organize our HIVE CHRISTMAS HANGOUT FOR ALL MEMBERS here in my University on the 18th December, 2021, which happens to be next week Saturday. This hangout promises to be awesome as we decided to organize a small celebration outside the walls of the University.😄
Surprised, right?

Yes! Our previous meetings had always been inside the University at a relaxation ground popularly called MOTION GROUND. This time, we decided to visit a relaxation center outside school here in the city of Abeokuta, Nigeria popularly called OOPL which means OLUSEGUN OBASANJO PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY. We want to have a swell fun time, eat good food and drinks, watch movie, swim, do many relaxing activities and also discuss hive related matters in the spirit of Christmas and our love for Hive.

Meanwhile, we have had two meetings already here in my University where we on boarded new members to our young and growing community. Not only that, we also discussed various pressing matters, shared our various experience on hive, shared useful tips and helped the newbies have a seamless account registration process down to their first introductory post.

FACTS ABOUT THE RELAXATION CENTER – OLUSEGUN OBASANJO PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY (OOPL)

Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library is the first presidential library in Africa. It is a tourist center. It has a museum, a zoo park, a library and many attractive sites.

The presidential library complex is strategically located at the intersection of two major roads that lead into the city of Abeokuta from two different directions, namely, The Presidential Boulevard and The MKO Abiola Way. The first leads to Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub, and the second leads to Ibadan, formerly the largest city in Nigerian and West Africa. The complex’s 32 hectares lie in the immediate vicinity of the Federal High Court, the City Stadium, the Federal and State Governments’ Secretariats, a golf course and several high-brow residential estates.
The construction of the complex presented a lot of environmental and physical challenges because of the site’s unique topographical formation. Almost 47 per cent of the site is covered with outcrops of igneous granite rock formation.
The shape and outlook of the rock formations are impressive and interesting. A plateau-like formation serves as a natural helipad. Others form hillocks that create an excellent view of the entire complex and major areas of the surrounding cityscape. The site is not all rock. A swift stream empties into a small swamp and was dammed to provide water and electricity. The dam is one of the highlights of any visit to the library complex.-text source

Everyone here in my University is complaining about the stress and bulky daily workload. Personally, I have series of continuous assessment test coming up next week, lots of notes to cover, lots of writing ideas to execute, pending coding task and I must confess, they are extremely overwhelming. I sometimes wish that I can just drop everything and runaway to my imaginary sunset beach with that beautiful woman next to me but years have gone by and I am still here stuck with my books and wild imagination😪

This hangout is a once in a while opportunity to leave the walls of our school, go somewhere interesting, meet new people and primarily have plenty fun while spreading the love of hive still in the spirit of Christmas.

For this purpose, every member agreed to donate 10HBD (#5000) each to ensure that all we need to make our hangout worthwhile and fun is properly catered for.

@starstrings01, @monioluwa and I will be going to OOPL this Sunday after church service to make necessary arrangements for our upcoming hangouts.

• Have a better environment to discuss Hive related issues:

While having fun, we will have lots of discussions on pressing matters especially on the subject of properly structuring our hive community.
Our community here in school is rapidly growing with over 20 active members thus the need for proper structures to make work easy. The workload is becoming too burdensome for our leader @starstrings01 to handle alone so we decided to raise guardians whose job is to help onboard new members assigned to them, mentor them and ensure they are properly carried along. With this in place, new members added to the community will easily adapt to the Hive platform, understand the rules quickly and in no time become strong enough to also help other newbies.
Issues related to this and other pressing matters will be carefully addressed at our upcoming hive meeting/hangout.

Also, it’s also an avenue to preach the gospel of hive by sharing our experience as we will have new members around.
Superb, right?

Yeah! I can’t wait for our hangout and I am so excited.
