We are living an interesting time with all the boom that artificial intelligence is having lately, and this movie is an eye opener for what we could have in a hypothetical future with the impressive advances that are shown to us every day, that's why I decided to watch it with my children once again, I confess that I liked it quite a lot, the plot, the characters, everything is very well done.

Perhaps when it was released in 2018 the evolution of Artificial Intelligence was not in mind, the truth is that four years later this film gains a little more strength and makes us think if it will be possible to coexist with these "beings" at some point in our existence. Possibly I am imagining a very futuristic scenario or one that will never come, but in my particular case, as I like graphic design, I am impressed and at the same time very encouraged with the results that can be achieved in this area with the Midjourney artificial intelligence bot, something that in my opinion can be exploited considerably.

Now then, following the main thread of the post, the story of the movie centers on a little young girl who lives bitterly with good reason, her father has abandoned her and her mother for soccer, an aspect that shows us parental irresponsibility and how this can affect the growth and development of children in our society. Mai is the name of our girl, who we will see on multiple occasions getting into trouble and being beaten by other young people in her school who even make fun of the abandonment she has suffered because of her father.

The atmosphere of the film is totally futuristic, a society that lives in harmony and in a kind of "ignorance" at the same time about the environment that surrounds it, one where robots are an essential part of human life, they are the center of attention of people, replacing many basic things and facilitating life to some extent. The detail is that humans become so dependent on them that without realizing it the robots begin to subtly dominate and enslave them, robbing them of important aspects of their own essence.

This increases when the villain of the plot creates robots called Q-bots, which do absolutely everything; Mai is a victim in her own home of how her mother ignores her and does not pay due attention to her because of this model, so her rage increases more, but she redirects it towards the robots and wants to destroy them all, however the life of this young woman will change later in the plot, and it is thanks to our second main character, project 77.

Estamos viviendo un tiempo interesante con todo el auge que está teniendo la inteligencia artificial últimamente, y esta película es un abrebocas para lo podríamos tener en un hipotético futuro con los avances impresionantes que se nos muestran cada día, por eso decidí verla con mis hijos una vez más, confieso que me ha gustado bastante, la trama, los personajes, todo está muy bien hecho.

Quizás cuando fue lanzada en el año 2018 no se tenía en mente la evolución de la Inteligencia artificial, lo cierto es que cuatro años después esta película cobra un poco más de fuerza y nos hace pensar si será posible convivir con estos “seres” en algún momento de nuestra existencia. Posiblemente este imaginando un escenario muy futurista o uno que nunca llegara, pero en mi caso particular que me gusta el diseño gráfico estoy impresionado y a la vez muy animado con los resultados que se pueden conseguir en esa área con el bot de inteligencia artificial de Midjourney, algo que a mi juicio se puede aprovechar considerablemente.

Ahora bien, siguiendo el hilo principal de la publicación, la historia de la película se centra en una pequeña joven que vive amargada con justa razón, su padre le ha abandonado a ella y a su madre por el futbol, un aspecto que nos muestra la irresponsabilidad paternal y como esta puede afectar el crecimiento y desarrollo de los niños en nuestra sociedad. Mai es el nombre de nuestra chica, la cual veremos en múltiples ocasiones meterse en problemas y ser golpeada por otros jóvenes de su escuela que incluso se burlan del abandono que ha sufrido a causa de su padre.

El ambiente de la película es totalmente futurístico, una sociedad que vive en armonía y en una especia de “ignorancia” a la vez acerca del entorno que le rodea, uno donde los robots forman parte esencial de la vida humana, son el centro de atención de las personas, sustituyendo muchas cosas básicas y facilitando en cierta medida la vida. El detalle es que los humanos se vuelven tan dependientes de ellos que sin darse cuenta los robots comienzan a dominarlos y esclavizarlos sutilmente, robándole aspectos importantes de su propia esencia.

Esto aumenta cuando el villano de la trama crea unos robots llamados Q-bots, los cuales hacen absolutamente todo; Mai es víctima en su propio hogar de como su madre la ignora y no le presta la atención debida a causa de este modelo, por lo que su furia aumenta más, pero la redirige hacia los robots y quiere destruirlos a todos, sin embargo la vida de esta joven cambiara más adelante en la trama, y es gracias a nuestro segundo personaje principal, el proyecto 77.

A very human robot / Un robot muy humano

Project 77 is a robot created by Dr. Tanner Rice who is assistant to the villain Justin Pin, he made it with the purpose of becoming a weapon that can defeat all the robotic empire that Justin wants to create, it was elaborated in a hidden way and is equipped with first level weapons, it can shoot lasers, missiles, give strong blows, etc., but besides that it has a super nice personality, it is an advanced prototype of artificial intelligence, it can think on its own, make decisions and learn. When he meets Mai begins the most spectacular adventure of the film, and one of the issues that should be highlighted, because this robot becomes a kind of "savior" in the life of the angry little girl.

The first thing we see in him is an active awareness of what is right and what is wrong, and although at first he wants to satisfy Mai in all her demands then begins to question what he does because he is practically being an emissary of revenge in the life of the young girl, so he makes important decisions such as eliminating his weapons system, something he does for two reasons, one to stop destroying everything on a whim of Mai and second not to eliminate important memories for him.

Proyecto 77 es un robot creado por el Dr. Tanner Rice quien es asistente del villano Justin Pin, lo hizo con la finalidad de convertirse en un arma que pueda vencer todo el imperio robótico que Justin quiere crear, fue elaborado de forma oculta y está equipado con armas de primer nivel, puede disparar láser, misiles, dar fuertes golpes, etc., pero además de eso tiene una personalidad súper agradable, es un prototipo avanzado de inteligencia artificial, puede pensar por su cuenta, tomar decisiones y aprender. Cuando conoce a Mai comienza la aventura más espectacular de la película, y uno de los asuntos que más se deben resaltar, pues este robot se convierte en una especie de “salvador” en la vida de la pequeña niña airada.

Lo primero que vemos en él es una conciencia activa de lo que está bien y lo que está mal, y aunque a primera instancia quiere satisfacer a Mai en todas sus demandas luego comienza a cuestionarse lo que hace porque prácticamente está siendo un emisario de venganza en la vida de la joven, asi que toma decisiones importante como eliminar su sistema de armas, algo que hace por dos razones, una dejar de destruir todo por capricho de Mai y segundo no eliminar recuerdos importantes para él.

This theme of memories becomes the main point and is one of the teachings he tries to leave to Mai, that he creates memories, important things that he can never forget. Interesting what the writer of the story shows us, a wake-up call to give importance to the moments that make us more human and not to let ourselves be "hypnotized" by trivial or background things like technology to give an example.

The rest of the movie shows a battle for supremacy, Justin Pin is dead and who controls him is an artificial intelligence that has concluded in its understanding that humans must be annihilated and the world must be inhabited only by machines, so in his attempt at destruction Project 77 (a very human robot) opposes him and sacrifices everything he has of his own value to defend what is most important, humanity.

Este tema de los recuerdos se vuelve el punto principal y es una de las enseñanzas que procura dejarle a Mai, que cree recuerdos, cosas importantes que jamás pueda olvidar. Interesante lo que el escritor de la historia nos muestra, un llamado de atención a que demos importancia a los momentos que nos hacen más humanos y que no nos dejemos “hipnotizar” por cosas triviales o de segundo plano como la tecnología por dar un ejemplo.

El resto de la película muestra una batalla por la supremacía, Justin Pin ha muerto y quien lo controla es una inteligencia artificial que ha concluido en su entendimiento que los humanos deben ser aniquilados y el mundo debe ser habitado solo por las maquinas, por lo que en su intento de destrucción el Proyecto 77 (un robot muy humano) se le opone y sacrifica todo lo que tiene de valor propio para defender lo más importante, la humanidad.

Final Thoughts / Pensamientos finales

It is definitely a movie worth watching, its plot is simple but quite deep, I like how the author developed his whole message under a robotized society, and in turn it makes me think about how our life would be if we had robots doing our job, would that cause a setback? In one sense it is possible, although it would enter the realm of speculation, but if we look at our times, we can notice that today's technology has displaced many things of value to the background. By this I do not mean that technology is bad, it would be absurd to say that, but as it advances it seems that we are leaving our humanity aside and we are becoming more and more automated. There really is much to think about this, and with the rise of artificial intelligence much more, but it is a topic to develop for another time, this time I will leave it up to this point, so finally I encourage you to see the movie if you have not already done so, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Definitivamente es una película que vale la pena observar, su trama es sencilla pero bastante profunda, me gusta como el autor desarrollo todo su mensaje bajo una sociedad robotizada, y a su vez me hace pensar en cómo sería nuestra vida si tuviéramos robots que hagan nuestro trabajo, ¿Causaría eso un retroceso? En un sentido es posible, aunque entraría en el terreno de la especulación, pero si observamos nuestros tiempos, podemos notar que la tecnología actual ha desplazado muchas cosas de valor a un segundo plano. Con esto no quiero decir que la tecnología sea mala, sería absurdo decir eso, pero a medida que esta avanza parece que vamos dejando nuestra humanidad de lado y nos estamos automatizando cada vez más. Realmente hay mucho que pensar en torno a esto, y con el auge de la Inteligencia artificial mucho más, pero es tema a desarrollar para otra ocasión, en esta oportunidad lo dejare hasta este punto, asi que por ultimo te animo a ver la película si aún no lo has hecho, estoy seguro que la disfrutaras.
