Artsy things

I was watching a youtube video the other day and I was surprised that the sponsor was not the usual low tier crap like Raid Shadow (more like Shit ) Legends. No, no, no this was a fancy shmancy sponsor that had some interesting claims, it's called Masterworks. They allow you to invest in art they claim to carefully pick and buy, so after 3-7 years they sell it and share the profits with you, or at least that's what my pleb brain understood from all the financial mumbo jumbo on their website. It may be a legit thing but it smells a bit sus to me honestly, they are basically saying: " give us your money and at some point in the next 7 years tops, we will give you back more money, pinky promise with extra sugar on top". Or maybe the amount of scams I've seen in crypto has made this old clown very skeptical of anything that promises big financial gains.

The thing that really got my attention was their claims that art performed better than the S&P 500. I lack the brain power or time to really dig into that claim but my pleb senses tingle with the impression that information is intentionally being bent or hidden so that it fits a narrative. I'll let smarter people figure that one out.

What would really be interesting is a comparation to crypto, because I'm sure our magic internet money would blow all that artsy stuff out of the water. Or even better a comparison with the 20% APR HBD gets in savings, even though that 20% is not guaranteed long termed - which is a big shame in my opinion because the lack of predictability will not be very appealing to people coming from outside the Hive ecosystem.

On a lighter note, I tried to find where the phallic work of art that the meme is based on is situated but I couldn't find any leads on it. Anyway my respects to the buffoon that created it :)
