Dry Gobi Manchurian

Gobi Manchurian is a famous appetizer for Vegetarians which is made with cauliflower, cornflour, refined flour, soy sauce, etc. I have made it as dry because I wanted it to have in snacks, though we can make the gravy too and can be eaten with rice or chapatis. I don't eat Gobi Manchurian outside much because of artificial colors to make it red as well as healthy if it's cooked at home.

Let's prepare Dry Gobi Manchurian


Blanch Cauliflower

At first, chop the cauliflower into small equal florets and then rinse the florets and add them to the hot water (salt and turmeric). This is needed so that the cauliflower becomes a little soft as well as to remove any insects or worms.

After 2 minutes drain and set the cauliflower aside for later.

Make Batter

To make the batter add the following ingredients in a bowl:

  1. Three tablespoons of Corn Flour
  2. Three tablespoons of Refined Flour
  3. 1/4 tablespoon of Kashmiri red chili powder
  4. 1 tablespoon of ginger garlic paste
  5. 1/4 tablespoon of black pepper

Once done mix all of them well, to make a thick paste.

Marinate Gobi Manchurian with the Batter

Now we will mix all the blanch cauliflower into the batter and mix them well. After that add some cornflour over them to make it thick. After that move them to a plate so that we can deep fry them later.

Deep Frying

Now the batter-coated cauliflower florets are either pan-fried or deep-fried in hot oil. We have to fry it till it becomes light brown. I have used the mustard oil to fry to have a little different taste than usual.

Preparing Sauce

Now it's time to create the sauce for the Manchurian. I have taken garlic, ginger, chopped onion, and some chopped capsicum and fried them until it is cooked. Also, I have taken 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of chili sauce in a cup and mixed them well. Also, take some cornflour in a cup and add some water to it. Once the vegetables are cooked add the mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, and chili sauce along with the cornflour and water mixture, and then, at last, add some tomato ketchup to it. Mix them well.

Once the sauce is ready, mix the fried cauliflower with it and mix them well. Once done you can serve it hot.

It tasted good, though the spice level was not that much for me it was ok, as I like less spicy food.

Hi , I am kamal an Indian two weeks ago i joined hive. I joined this foodies bee hive i tried to post my recipes,but sorry to say nobody bother to read my posts. If somebody read it i am sure they would like it. I am very nervous can you please guide me how to manage here.
