My Little Home Garden

Though it is not as big as many people's garden, but still for me wherever you are growing some plants can be called as garden. I have t=got two new plants yesterday, one is Holy basil and other is just for show so that my little garden will look little beautiful.

Along with that I have some indoor plants like Lucky Bamboo plant and Money plant which makes my home interior beautiful.

When I got Holy Basil, first thing I have done is to move it from small pot to a bigger pot. I had some soil with me so that was not a problem. But I got Vermicompost.

According to Wikipedia:

Vermicompost (vermi-compost) is the product of the decomposition process using various species of worms, usually red wigglers, white worms, and other earthworms, to create a mixture of decomposing vegetable or food waste, bedding materials, and vermicast. This process is called vermicomposting, while the rearing of worms for this purpose is called vermiculture.

In short Vermicompost enhances soil fertility physically, chemically and biologically. My main reason of getting vermicompost is that, it will make the soil less hard and thus the water can go deep inside which was not the case earlier. Using vermicompost process is simple.

When you have a soil, just loosen it a little and then take 3 part of soil and one part of vermicompost and mix it well and add it to the pot.

After that just add your plant if you have or seeds and then add the mixture to the whole soil.

This mixing has to be done at the first time and later on once in a month we just have to remove the top of the soil and add the vermicompost at the top layer which thus give nutrients to the plant.

The price of the vermicompost is also not that high, I got 2 kg for Rs. 152 ($2.2) and thus I can use it for nearly 3-4 full pots or can be used for 3-4 months. The only thing I have to learn is how to keep the plants healthy. Like watering should be apt, not more and not less. In the rainy season there is a moisture in the air so we should not water too much.

Also will be getting some more plants to make my garden little more beautiful. That will make it as Amazing Nature around me.
