Saving is a Habit and should be taught from Childhood
Habit is something which you do on a regular basis and thus it becomes part of your daily activity. I remember when I was little, my father used to give me a coin everyday, no matter tye value of that coin. I used to save it in my Piggy Bank (Gullak), and after 4 to 5 years it was full. And then I have given that to my father who have given me the note in exchange for that coin.

Now that's when I have cultivated the habit of savings as little as possible. Today too I have similar piggy bank where whenever I come home with any change, I ask my daughter to put that in it. It's not slowly filling and hopefully in couple of years it will be full. But yeah the message is clear and to be taught to the young ones that when you save as little as possible everyday, that saving one day can be huge.
I think our education system should also be improved so that the young ones knows the importance of saving. I know saving from the childhood is not that great because that's the time to explore and other things. But I am talking about the Habit, once you have a good habit that remains with yuliy for a long period of time and similarly when you have a bad habit it also stays with you. So when you cultivate a good habit like saving from the childhood it gives that child a sense of importance in savings.
Today the children's are like, if they break one toy they think that getting one more is easy and father can bought it the next day. But in our times we used to have 3-4 toys and only used to get additional one at the time of birthday. And this way we also have got the sense of keeping our thing secure. And that should also be taught to the young ones from the time they can understand.
Now today it is so important that people should save money because of so many uncertainties and this will increase more and more. I don't know but the world is heading towards the same. And if we can educate the young ones to have that habit then they will be miles ahead than the others.

Savings is a good habit to have as a child. When it sticks to the child, it will remove the impulse of instant gratification and instill financial discipline. I spent most of the money I got in my childhood. Will definitely not repeat the same pattern for future generations.
