A bit of yoga. A bit of beach time. A lot of sunshine.

This glorious morning saw us up early and heading south. We were headed for Southport/Main Beach on the Gold Coast (Queensland). The local council puts on a very cheap yoga class every Saturday morning lead by a delightful man who is a newly qualified but enthusiastic teacher.

While I have no photos of class it was a big group today. Over winter we've had classes as small as 3-4 participants; today it was easily double that. Still, I enjoyed using my body, warming up slowly through both the direct sunlight and the many, varied movements. It was a good class and I was happy we made the effort to drive down there.

Brad did his usual trick of running while I yoga'd 😉 and was there to meet me when class finished. He was keen for a dip so we headed down to the beach that's literally spitting distance from where the class is held.

I peeled off as many layers as I could stand and soaked up some sunshine to make some much needed vitamin D.

Meanwhile, he swam, happily catching waves in the icy cold water.

Then we went for a short, barefoot walk along the beach. Or rather, we walked slowly because Brad's ankle was hurting from so much running, walking and work and I did a short out-and-back jog along the beach to a fallen tree to get my heart rate up.

The recent massive rainstorms had smashed the coast; you could see the damage the entire way along the beach. SO much sand had been moved by the then thrashing waves! 🌊

Despite the extra bit of black sand, the debris, the massive volume changes in beach sand and the coastal erosion the beach was still beautiful. It helps that the weather was mild, warm and relatively calm. A good beach day is always a great day in my mind. 🙏

Photo of me soaking up sun and Brad coming out of the ocean were taken by me on my (rather old!) phone. All the rest of these beauties were taken by him (@new.things) on his (newer!) phone. Thanks love 😘

In case you've never been here or you're new to me or your world geography isn't crazy awesome, we are in Australia! 🌏 (Just so you don't have to guess or Google look it up!)

Bhahaha. !LOL

I know, I know. I have lived in proper cold places so I do know what you're going through. (I used to live and guide in the Blue Mountains and in the Southern Highlands many moons ago).
