Sweet! Birthday hugs and the most ridiculously awesome meal ever πŸ˜€

(Edited)

Despite the epic cold weather we've been having in South East Queensland (Australia), we decided we'd still do our preferred Sunday morning trip down to the Gold Coast.

This is a fairly new ritual for a Sunday, though ritual may not be the right word as we only do it when I have the energy and we can't think of anything we'd like to do more.

But we do like the ocean beach views and vibe of the Gold Coast, and most Sunday mornings there's a (very cheap) outdoor yoga class with a lovely, gentle, enthusiastic teacher I like. So the new normal plan is for me to attend this hour long class and Brad runs for the hour.

That's basically what we did yesterday but with a twist. This time he wanted to do a half marathon (21.1km) so I dropped him off before arriving at yoga and then he kept running all the way to a cafΓ© where we were meeting my friend Jess for lunch.

If case you happen to be in the Gold Coast (now or ever) we when to the gobsmackingly amazing Cardamom Pod at Broadbeach. That's where I got to have hugs, and the best soy dirty chai(s) I've had in ages, plus this πŸ‘‡

This is their Acai Snickers Bowl. Vegan, gluten free and nutrient-rich it's also SUPER tasty... and filling!!

Brad and Jess both had more savory things (that also looked awesome), though Brad was still hanging for more sugar, I mean nutrients πŸ˜‚ after all that running so he got a big slice of salted, caramel cake.

After that and two cups of coffee even HE was full πŸ˜…

!LOL

I definitely know I've been in colder places before. (On top of Kosci in a blizzard rings a bell 🀣) but our bodies are all in shock up here. It stayed hotter longer (our last round of 30'C+ days were in May) and then the cold weather we expect in August came in June. No time to adjust, we're all freakin' freezing! 🀣

And yes, the bowl was amazing. I must have been craving something in there, nutrient-wise because there were several hot options on the menu and I picked one of the only two cold ones! πŸ˜†

Ahh... Nothing like a good hug and EXTREMELY good looking meals!

I am in total awe of that Acai Snicker's bowl though. I mean, how do you even make that? It looks so unbelievably, ridiculously, undeniably, stupendous!
