A rainbow on our way back home

Today the day started with an outage. We had several in the morning. So for fear of damaging the electronic devices we had connected, we preferred to turn everything off and take advantage of the day doing some errands. So I went out with the husband. This took us to the municipality of Chacao in Caracas, and as we passed by the Plaza La Castellana it occurred to me that we should stop and walk around the Plaza for my Wednesday walk.

This square of a circle form is in the neighborhood of the same name La Castellana, one of the most wealthy in the city. It is in the center of a traffic circle and has recently been renovated. They put in beautiful flower boxes and renewed the lighting. I had not been there since they renovated it. For the season, it is also decorated for Christmas, with a huge Christmas tree in the middle of the square. I'm sure it must look even prettier at night when it's lit up.

When we were in the square it had just been raining and in the sky, we could still see some gray clouds in contrast with the blue sky, after a few hours of rain.

Surely the mayor's office is preparing activities in the square for these days, and in fact, in spite of the rain, it looked like they were setting up some equipment for a presentation.

And on our way home we saw a big rainbow in the sky. A nice way to round off the afternoon. And luckily when we got back home, we had power and I was able to do my post today, the 23rd of this month of #HiveBloPoMo.

Chacao is a proper name. And as far as I know, that was the name of an Indian chief from colonial times.

Oh so cool this plaza! At first I have read "Paseo de la Castellana" that one in Madrid jaja but I like more this plaza and now already with Christmas decorations, here still not hope soon.
Nice city really.

Jeje! This part of the city is very well kept, and it has as a frame the mountains very close, so it's really nice. There are also many cafes and restaurants in the area.
