Cat grass and some shopping at the nursery

CatGrass_Shopping.jpg

Last weekend, my husband and I went out on a mission to buy cat grass. He has wanted to do it since he watched a video some days ago about it and how much cats love it. We have heard it is great for cats living indoors. And since Grogu loves plants, we thought he would love it.

We went to an area of the city called La Union. Where besides nurseries, we discovered a great cafe that I already told you about.

There are many nurseries in the area. But I like one more than the others for the way they display the plants. They are always creative with the arrangements, and visiting it is like a small stroll.

PlantNursery1.jpg

I hadn't been there for a long time. And I was glad to see it was there as usual and open.

PlantNursery2.jpg

I like that this place is not only creative in the display of the plants, but they are always changing it up. So on every visit, you can find different plants and displays of them.

PlantNursery5.jpg

PlantNursery6.jpg

This time they had a lot of succulents, as they are in fashion. And they also had a lot of bonsais on display.

PlantNursery3.jpg

We went to look at the area where they have aromatic herbs. We wanted to buy rosemary since one of our plants dried up recently. We also wanted basil as we are fond of making pesto, and it would be nice to be able to grow some of the basil we are using.

PlantNursery7.jpg

PlantNursery8.jpg

On the table, in the area where the aromatic herbs were, they had also several small pots with cactus grafts. They looked so cool. And I thought when the buds of the cactus I have at home are a little bit bigger, I will try to do something like this.

PlantNursery9.jpg

At the nursery, they had an area full of beautiful flowers, and of course, I remembered to take some pictures for #alwaysaflower.

PlantNursery10.jpg

I loved these rainbow pinks. I was about to take them home. But then I had second thoughts, as I first have to make some space on the balcony to have them. The space I have is limited. So it will be for the next visit I'll take some flowers

PlantNursery11.jpg

Then I saw this little pot with Groot's face and thought of my awesome friend @ifarmgirl. I would love to give you one of these, sis.

PlantNursery12.jpg

I continued exploring the nursery, and there was an area with some hanging plants and other shrubs. It would be nice to sit in a garden like the one in the picture and have a cup of coffee, wouldn't it?

PlantNursery13.jpg

But wait, when I got closer, I noticed something different than coffee on the table, hehe. And I thought it would be great to sit there with Matilda and have a gin together while she updates me on her latest adventures and her knitting projects. It seemed a nice place for chimis from the interweby. What do you say @tengolotodo? Do you think Matilda would like to chit-chat in a garden like this?

PlantNursery14.jpg

PlantNursery15.jpg

In the small nursery office, they had what the husband was looking for to spoil our naughty kitten, cat grass seeds.

PlantNursery15_Shopping.jpg

So we took home a basil plant, a rosemary plant, a bag of black soil, and a package of cat grass seeds. We paid 9 dollars for all if I remember correctly. And we had a great time at the nursery.

Cat_Grass.jpg

That same day the husband planted the seeds. And a week later, this is how the pot looks. He didn't add the whole packet of seeds, but I think he should to make it grow thicker.

We had to take the pot out to the balcony because Grogu was going to kill the grass before it sprouted.

Grogu300323.jpg

The day we planted them, he was so curious. And now, every time I open the balcony, he tries to peek out to see if he can reach the pot. Always with his curious face, very similar to the one he has in this picture 😺.

This is my participation for this week's #MarketFriday started by @dswigle.

Thank you for reading, and enjoy the weekend!

The nursery is a haven for every plantita/plantito. Love all those flowers!

By the way, what are the benefits a cat can get from cat grass?

Hi there @pachuchay
Nice to see you in Hive, welcome!! I hope you are fine.

From what I have read, it helps them with digestion, because it is fiber. And our cat has been having problems with hairballs lately. So we hope, that will also help him expel them.

I didn't even know you get cat grass... That's awesome! And amazing to see how it's growing already! I love your cat's curiosity...as if he knows that this is meat for him...hahaha.

Thanks for sharing your visit to the nursery, @coquicoin!

My husband found out about cat grass on one of those viral cat videos. So let's see if he likes it or is just some curiosity, hehe.
Thank you for stopping by :)

Really loved the pictures. The garden did look very comforting and you are correct, it looks like a great place to enjoy a coffee. I do hope your beautiful kitten enjoys her grass.

It's only a matter of time before the grass gets thicker and your cat gets to enjoy it fully.

I like the concept of a pot with Groot's face, that's really unique.

And the place with a table and chair under a shade; perfect for cooling off after a stressful walk.

I bet Grogu will love it:)
My cat actually ate entire thing! Roots and all! She likes papyrus plant as well, as far as I know - it is harmless for cats as well. And it grows really tall, really fast!

Hehe!! We will start to give it to him this week. I don't know if we can find papyrus here. Grogu loves plants. I used to have some indoors, and I had to take them all out to the balcony because he ate them. And I don't know if any of them could end up harming him, that's why I loved the idea of the cat grass.
Thank you for stopping by 😺

Yeah, with my cat was the same. All I could save was few succulents, and a cactus :D

I wish Grougu bon appétit!

Grogu looks like quite a naughty cat indeed but it's evident that you both absolutely adore him. I would love to see this nursery too. Those plants and flowers look absolutely lovely. Thanks for sharing dearest.🌺

What a cute face he has! :) Hello, little kitty!

I would have planted more of the seeds. Cat Grass does not spread like the grass in a lawn. Cat Grass grows for between two to three months and then dies. The cats can keep nibbling the grass to within a few inches of the soil, and the grass will grow back. However, because of the type of plants they are, the grass/oat seed combination will not reproduce .So, keep in mind, you will have to reseed if you want to keep it going.

The flowers are tempting! I hope you went back and got those pink pretties! I love pesto and my basil garden grows abundantly! I agree, it feels better when the basil is all mine or at least some of it.

You are right about succulents and Bonzai trees. Both are popular and neither one do I have. I guess I am so out of touch. You always take me to such fun places! Thank you for taking us along!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world. Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

3.Post the pictures! No out-of-focus ones, please! Tell a little bit about the pictures that you post. Having many pictures to scroll through does not make a better post without explanation.
4.Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated) If you don't, then #MarketFriday should be your first tag
5.Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
