The joy that comes with tears. POB-WOTW #13. EUREKA

That fateful Saturday, it was her wedding day, a day she had long dreamt of. Olivia had started making necessary preparations for the wedding ceremony few months earlier, but that morning it was like everything she had done wasn’t enough, guests arriving from different part of the country, caterer taking their spot in the hall in preparation to serve the guests, photographers and cameramen taking position, master of events(MC) liaising with the technology group to make sure that the public address system is ready for use, the music bands setting their musical instruments, among many other activities taking place that morning.

Back in the bridal dressing room, while the bridesmaids were getting prepared and the make up artist was applying makeups on the bride’s(Olivia) face, she looked into the mirror with a deep breath and thoughts going through her mind. Filled with excitement and anxiety, she hoped for the ceremony to workout as planned and thought of how her new home was going to look like.

Cutting the long story short, later in the evening, after the successful ceremony and after the guests had gone back to their various locations. Olivia and her husband went to her father’s house to pack the rest of her luggage . On getting there, they met her father sitting at the front yard, he had been back from the ceremony an hour before then.

After the greetings, Olivia and her husband went inside to pack and arrange the luggage instead the car, then her father started to think of how he had brought her up.

It was just like yesterday, when he first carried her at the hospital. Olivia’s mother had passed while in the labor room, leaving the father to single handedly raise her.

He thought of how little she was back then and how he would not let anybody or anything take her away from his sight, he also thought of how he would not let boys from college come near her, now she is all grown up and about to moving in with someone he had barely known for a year. It felt like everything he worked for is gradually been taking from him.

On the other hand , he thought of how well he had raised his little girl and how her mother would have been proud of her if she was alive. Suddenly, tear drops started to roll down his cheeks. Olivia noticed it, went closer, gave him a warm hug and started to cry(exclaimed).

People around saw these and in no time, everyone had a red eye. Father prayed for Olivia and her husband, he told her husband how important Olivia is to him and asked him to take good care of her.

His eureka moment continued as Olivia and her husband arranged the rest of the luggage in the car and drove off.

Special appreciation to @calumum for the fantastic word of the week EUREKA. Appreciation to everyone who took time to read through my context. The last two WOTW passed without me dropping my post, although I had things to talk about but couldn’t find time to create contents after schooling activities. This is why I have decided to make my post today, Monday before the week’s activities fully sets in.

So passionate and wonderful post bro @corporateay. I wonder how Olivia's father would have been able to cope after letting out his daughter's hand in marriage. Definitely, Joy will always out shine depression as time goes on.

Thanks for stopping by @daniky

Her father will eventually get over it, just that it will take a lot to adapt to the new fact

That's true brother, it will definitely take time for the father to get himself back, but nature must definitely take its course because he can't expect Olivia to keep living with him for life. Though blood is thicker than water.

What Olivia has to do is to make sure that her absence is not really felt, by giving him calls from time to time, and visiting him on holidays. That should help him a lot

A great story, it's indeed a moment of joy watching what you've raised with a trembling hands finally get to that stage where she's given out. I could imagine the joy and proud feeling of her father.

Yes, looking at how it felt like a mission impossible from the beginning, how he had to make himself available as a father and mother at the same time.

Now seeing her become a woman. That feelings comes with goosebumps

Huh, very emotional. Most Fathers have this experience, it's crazy sometimes you think Fathers are strong and do not feel, but this moment is always very tough for them

They might look strong on the outside, trust me, they are as soft and tender hearted on the inside

hmm... a very emotional story, nice one. I think this is something we would have to face at some point in our lives--change. In some cases, it is brutally sweet--letting go of the things we love...

Change can be difficult at times, especially when it comes to leaving who is always around, only left family Most especially
