I had a bit of a break from betting the last 3 days after an extremely busy schedule in January and February. 4 matches will be played in the coming days with 2 of them being matches from Club Brugge that were postponed and 2 semi-finals from the Belgian Cup. All matches will be played at 20:45 starting with the first one tonight between Charleroi and Club Brugge.
Charleroi vs Club Brugge
Charleroi started the season really well but have now dropped outside of the top 8 being 11th with 3 points behind on a playoff 1 spot. Their last match was played against Stvv at which ended in a match where both teams were not willing to take any risk resulting in a boring 0-0 draw. They have shown to be a rather poor 1H team but ok 2nd half team. Overall with 3 draws and a loss in their last 4 matches, they aren't exactly in a good form and they also no longer have their rock-solid defensive play style where they break down the opponent and win with 1 goal on the counter at the moment. They also have some important missings with Moroka, Benavente, Rezae, Willems & Teodorczyk. Club Brugge is 15 points clear in the lead with 2 matches less played and is coming off a 10-game win streak in the league. Aside from Dost and Kossounou, they are also complete with Lang, De Ketelaere and Vanaken back in the team and healthy. I see no reason to back Charleroi or oppose Club Brugge in what looks like a match where the visitors should be able to bring a lot more quality as they have shown so many times in the league. I'm taking a rather cautious betting approach with a small pre-game bet on
Club Brugge 1st Half -0.25 @ 1.700 rounding that off to a small-medium bet taking a tiny bit extra on
Club Brugge 1H -0.5 @ 2.113. They are the highest-ranked 1H team while Charleroi has shown to be a rather poor 1H team. Even if the likely scenario of Charleroi laying back takes place, the odds justify the risk for me. In case Charleroi scores first or the match is still a draw at Half Time, I will get the opportunity to possibly bet more in-game.
