I guess that Friday showed how having discipline is absolutely key to beat this sports betting market as I easily could have taken 10 units on Antwerp -1.5 which looked like stealing money near the end of the 1st half as Antwerp was up 2-0 in full control never looking in danger with the 2-1 falling out of the air which got Antwerp shaken up in the 2nd half as they didn't quickly score the 3-1. While i set a maximum of 1.6 units I was willing to lose, I 'only' lost 1 unit on Antwerp not covering the handicap in the end. I'll write more about these dynamics on monday in my results post. Right now it's time to focus on the next 4 games that will be played today...
Kv Mechelen vs OH Leuven
Kv Mechelen is currently in 10th place around which is where they belong based on their average performance so far this season. They clearly are weakened compared to last year after Coach Vrancken left and them also losing key striker Cuypers to AA Gent while Storm has not yet reached his peak form like last year yet. This left them with multiple performances this season where especially their defense was a weak point. They did manage to get Verstraete from Antwerp who they never would have been able to acquire if it wasn't for Antwerp not playing in Europe. OHL, on the other hand, has been the revelation of the season and they are not undeserved in 4th place with just solid performances and many players currently in a good form. While they are ranked too high based on their overall team quality, I can see them continue this good streak today and it would not surprise me for them to continue being the revelation of the season. Right now I see OHL as the better team with the momentum on their side, Mechelen only really managed to impress at home against Union who rotated their team and were in between Champions League Qualifier matches. This is another match where I was willing to just risk 1 unit straight on the bet that by far makes the most sense to me. I placed it on
OH Leuven +0.5 @ 1.953. Both teams have been high on goals and this is totally reflected in the 3.25 line which I'm staying away from. I also took 10000 WGR on OHL +0.5 @ 1.960 over at

Cercle Brugge vs Oostende
Cercle Brugge is currently in the last place while I don't really consider them as a relegation candidate. They showed excellent things at the end of last season with the only real difference now is Mantondo no longer being in the team which makes it harder for them to score. This got them in a negative cycle where they haven't been able to win in their last 6 matches of which 3 were played against top teams. In 8 matches, they only managed to score 3 goals so far despite not playing horribly overall. Oostende is 13th in the league with 9 points (4 more than cercle), they play well organized and have done ok so far. last week they broke their losing 4-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over Eupen. As I See Cercle as the overall better squad who ander underranked, I can understand the -0.5 / -0.25 line on them. I can see Cercle Brugge starting with a lot of drive as this is the match they really have and want to win while Oostende would instantly sign for a draw in this away match as that would keep their gap between a direct opponent. I'm leaning toward Cercle on 1H corners but will wait for when the match starts to possibly take it. On paper it should be a low-scoring match but 2.5 total line is not attractive enough. So overall nothing really that I'm willing to get involved in yet

Zulte-Waregem vs Sint-Truiden
Zulte-Waregem is in 2nd last place and based on what the quality they have shown so far for sure are one of the relegation candidates even though their overall energy levels in their matches have been good. Their quality is just too low. Stvv is in 11th place with 10 points and mainly have shown good defensive abilities while scoring remains their big problem. I do however see them as the better team of the 2 by enough of a margin to be willing to get 0.2 unit pre-game bets each on
Stvv +0 @ 1.764 and
1st Half Stvv +0 @ 1.794 with an option to increase on this position in case odds would go up or when the in-game picture is favorable.
Charleroi vs Westerlo
Charleroi is currently 8th with 12 points but I haven't really ben convinced by what they showed so far and think they are overrewarded. They do mostly focus on defense despite having quite some goals in their matches (5.5W-2L against the over so far with 3.25 goals on average). Westerlo is 13th with 9 points and so far have showed good potential while at the same time being overrated on their Asian handicaps as they are compared to Union last season. They are 3W-4.5L-0.5P against them and the lines now are getting a bit more acceptable. They do have a hard time to keep clean sheets and play to score goals. Overall the -0.25/-0.25 line seems to be quite correct to me so I will be staying away for now to see what this match brings in-game.
