An important night for Belgian Football tonight as Anderlecht, AA Gent, & Antwerp are fighting for an European ticket with all of them being in a difficult spot after the match last week. Failing to qualify could potentially have a major influence on the European Tickets next year with the Champion no longer being sure of a direct Champions League Ticket.
Vitesse vs Anderlecht
Anderlecht did not play last weekend while Vitesse lost 0-3 at home against Willem 2 showing that they can't just make 4-5 substitutions and still be competitive. Last week, Anderlecht actually played a good 1st half mostly since scoring first gave them confidence. Vitesse did have a good reaction with the match ending at a 3-3 draw making the 3rd goal late and missing a last-second penalty for the 4-3. Anderlecht coach Kompany stated that they will "play on result" tonight. Knowing Vitesse is a team that is best when playing on the counter, this likely won't make this a wide-open match from the start. Vitesse does have their striker Openda back who was suspended last week. Based on what I've seen last week, Anderlecht should be the better team on neutral ground, home advantage for sure should count for something. My lean again is on Vitesse as the home underdog now but I'm not willing to take the gamble on it. The draw is also not unlikely as I guess both won't mind having it go to extra time and penalties.
No Pre-Game Bets
AA Gent vs Rakow
AA Gent lost with 1-0 in the first match where they again managed to put up quite good numbers which didn't get them anything. AA Gent did not play over the weekend to give them extra preparation time and less potential fatigue for this important qualifier match. Rakow again managed to keep a clean sheet which was their 5th in a row in the European Qualifier matches. the most likely scenario is again for Rakow to keep everything closed in the back luring on a potential counter keeping this strategy even if they get 1-0 behind. AA Gent coach already warned that it was going to be a very difficult match indirectly preparing everyone that them getting eliminated would not come as a major surprise. They however have a good track record when it comes down to these do-or-die matches. At a -1 Line, I might have been slightly tempted but the -1.25 line is just too high of a risk to consider. Rakow also will have their most difficult encounter so far in these qualifier matches and there was certainly more potential for goals in their matches compared to what the results suggest.
No Pre-Game Bets
Antwerp vs Omonia
Antwerp last week showcased some very poor defense giving it away to Omonia despite looking totally in charge after making ath flattering 0-1. They ended up losing that match by 4-2 so they will have to take risks and win by 2 goals tonight in an all-or-nothing scenario. I both see Antwper capable of pulling a stunt winning by 3 goals and them again potentially giving goals away on the counters. It's hard not to see goals at some point in the match while Omonia at the same time might just put everything on defense. I'm still willing to take a 0.2 unit gamble on
Over 3.5 @ 2.86 with a lot of room to take extra in-game if the scores stays at 0-0 for a while. Both to score @ 1.80+ is also an option. this one should certainly be an interesting match.
