This Is Not Luck

Making your own luck through hard work I can agree with but saying you are lucky when you do well in crypto is very untrue.

You always hear how lucky you are when you have done well investing in something by taking a calculated chance. Those that are not in crypto will say how lucky you are as though there is no work involved. This may have been the case back in 2010, but not these days. I have always believed if you work hard you create your own luck along the way.

Being in the right place at the right time takes effort and DYOR as there are 1000's of choices to go through whittling down to a selected few. Finding GEMS is difficult and why they are called GEMS as they are very rare.

The truth is most crypto that we hold has to be worked on and is no longer just sitting in wallets waiting for the day to moon and sell. This is not easy and takes plenty of patience and why many deserve to succeed for what they do. This is a long road and is not a get rich quick scheme which is what the majority outside of crypto think. The social media of mooning and Lambos gives off the totally wrong impression as those are the ones who have no clue about how to earn crypto.

If we take HIVE or Leo for an example the luck is finding the place, but once you are here there is no luck as for those that involved understand what it takes to succeed. Taking myself as an example I have done 2797 with this one included ad that is not down to luck as this is time and effort and no luck attached. If one calculated the time taken if each post takes 2 hours to write then that is 5594 hours or 233 days which is mind boggling. How do you put a price on time as this is not luck and more like commitment to making your own luck.

I do think what we have here in Hive and the Tribes is something unique and special and this is more like fate if you are here. Things are so early that the ability to earn is around us in abundance and the only luck is that we are all here knowing what we already know.

The saying you have to be "in it to win it" is very true and just by being in something doesn't mean you are in the correct place either. How many projects have failed along the way over the years and looking around at the users on HIVE the majority are intelligent people who have seen and experienced the highs and lows of crypto.

Lots have changed in crypto over the last 4 years and we will see loads more changes over the next 4 but what stays constant is the effort required to stay abreast of these changes. If you want luck go and play the lottery or back the horses but never compare crypto with being lucky as after 4 years we know what we have here with HIVE and our other investments, but nothing is ever guaranteed in life.

Oh come on, its a little lucky I came to your post today.

LOL. Just entertaining myself, I'm gonna read your post now.

... ... ...

OK you make a great point. I do feel lucky that I was able to buy 0.13 hive but it was a really difficult decision, and it was bought in small amounts when those small amounts really mattered.

So the 50-100 that I spent then, was a really really big investment. I was having to check the couch cusions for coins after guests left to be able to do that (slight exaggeration).

I did work at it a whole lot, so while it feels like this was a post to tell people that hard work is better than luck any day, I took it as a congratulations to me.

Yay! I was able to build 11,500 HP and I can make sure it stays earning 10% and give that sucker a few years and I will feel EVEN luckier.

Especially if the price moons just a little.

If I want to enjoy the benefits of cryoto in 10 years and thats like a decade in cryptoterms I have to put in the effort now. Claiming, staking, gaming, posting, commenting, doing research, promoteing your content outside of hive, onboarding users, etc. thats a full time job basically if you do it on a daily basis.

I love it though that engaging with others makes you learn a lot in this space. I try to bring in as many new members as possible.

Gone are the days when bitcoin was all about chance; now, to win in cryptocurrency, one must work hard and be patient. Being a newbie is considerably more tough; in order to be known, one must post frequently and engage in more activities.

I also think that most crypto is not based on luck. There is some like DOGE because of Elon but most are based on how well the project actually does. Development, community, and a lot of things factor into whether or not crypto will do well.
