The road to Steem Fest | My Fears

Hello dear Steemians and all beautiful Blockchain people!

It is the right time to talk again about Steem Fest 4, because @steemfest will take place in Bangkok in less than two weeks from now:

And in this post I would like to share with you what my fears of Steem Fest are:

  1. Low attendance. I think that there will be not too many people at Steem Fest in Bangkok. I have checked many times the account (in particular the wallet) of @steemfest and I have noticed that not too many people have bought tickets so far. So, I expect relatively low attendance if compared to Steem Fest 3 in Kraków, that I attended last year.
    In my view one of the main reasons of the low attendance could be the Bear Market. Many people cannot visit Steem Fest, because price of STEEM is very low and they cannot pay for their costs (ticket to Steem Fest, flight ticket, accommodation, etc.). In addition, in my view, many people have left the Steem blockchain, because of the low price of STEEM (it has demotivated them).
    Last year the situation was completely different. Price of Steem was high enough, and many Steemians had been able to earn enough Steem and to pay for their trip to Kraków with Steem and to attend Steem Fest 3, that took place at the beginning of November 2018.

  2. Mood/atmosphere at Steem Fest 4. Because of the Bear Market and the low crypto prices, there is no big positivity among Steemains. Last year the situation was different, in my view. People on Steem Blockchain were so enthusiastic and energetic - constantly talking about the dApps on Steem blockchain and how successful our ecosystem is. Steem was a kind of new lifestyle for most of us!
    Now I think that many of the Steemians won't be that positive at Steem Fest 4 if compared to Steem Fest 3.

  3. Less representatives of dApps on Steem Fest 4. According to the information on the site https://steemfest.com/, I see that we will have many speakers from Steemit, Inc and not that many developers of dApps. It really bothers me, because last year (as I remember and if I am not wrong) just Ned Scott held the opening speech of Steem Fest 3 and there were many dApps representatives (there were 2-3 additional stages and there were many workshops, etc.) So it was so nice to be at Steem Fest 3, because the ecosystem was growing, many dApps were being built on the top of Steem blockchain. That was a positive signal for everyone! The atmosphere was awesome! Everyone was so entusiastic and energetic in Kraków.
    Now, as I mentioned above, according to the information on the site https://steemfest.com/ on the list of speakers, I saw low representation of dApps. Probably not that many developers are interested in building applications on the top of Steem blockchain (because of the Bear Market). I am curios what will happen to the Steem blockchain in the next 1 year ...

  4. If Steem blockchain will be able to survive in the Bear Market! Based on all I've written above I am curios if Steem ecosystem will survive in the next 2-3 years if the price of Steem continues to be low. So, let's see what the attendants of Steem Fest 4 will say about who will remain in our ecosystem, if the dApps will be able to survive, etc.

To put it in a nutshell what bothers me is if the atmosphere at Steem Fest 4 will be positive enough and what the next one or two years for Steem blockchain will be ...

What do you, fellow Steemians, think? It could be I am a bit too pessimistic?

I think next year will be awesome. Especially after bitcoin halving, we may see steem at $3 again and dApps tokens rise up.

Nice of you to share your fears @cryptospa, as I have said on several occasions, I think that the tribes is where the growth is, Steem is for the vast majority of new Steemians just there to run the blockchain and to be the main trading pair, SMT's will further solidify that change in my view, of course this change will be painful to many large stakeholders in Steem, but as long as it keeps running and the tribes and SMT's grows then it will turn around and be much stronger for it.

My own hope is that a lot more people from ClickTrackProfit will join CTPtalk, if only half of those current active members became active on CTPtalk, then the number of active Steemians would double.

@flaxz, I agree with you, that STEEM blockchain is the main layer of the ecosystem. But what I wanted to explain in my post is that less developers are going to Steem Fest 4 if compared to Steem Fest 3.

Also, I would like to add, that some of the tribes solely depend on Steem (Power). They don't bring any money to the ecosystem. They have to change their model.

Great post🙌. I mirror your fears too and blame the low attendance on the bear market. However, all is not doom and gloom. I am quite positive that we will have another alt season. No one can precisely know how far the price will rise but we will see more people come in especially from the DApps.

I think you are realistic and are pointing out good where the current issues are. But no need to be pessimistic. It will be fine I guess and the vibes will be good.. See ya there! (and uhhh..the SF wallet...I guess also people payed their fee in fiat and I am not sure if that ends up in that wallet....so it might be a biased view)

Yes, I do agree with you that it may turn out that this year most of the Steemians have paid for the ticket with fiat money.
