dCrops Quest Rewards are Live!

With all the hype surrounding the Chaos Legion pre-sale on #Splinterlands I thought I should point out the fact that there are other Play2Earn games on #Hive that are making progress as well. For example, #dCrops introduced quests into the game for the first time during this current season. Players are able to fulfill certain requirements and earn special cards which will enhance their potential harvests during the current season or in a future season.

All you have to do is complete each of the 10 tasks set for you during a season... dcrops quest completed 20211021 165355.gif...and you will receive a Rewards Chest...dcrops rewards chest 20211021 165506.gif

...filled with 10 special cards. chest rewards 20211021 165722.gif

They are:

dcrops speedgro20211021 183455.gif

Speed-Gro, which reduces wait time for a seed to mature by 10-50%,

dcrops fertiplus 20211021 183548.gif

Ferti-Plus, which doubles your chances of getting 2-star and 3-star harvests, and...

dcrops mystery seed 20211021 183522.gif

Mystery Seed, which gives you a random seed from the current season.

More ways for people to earn CROP tokens and enhance their holding rewards.

The great thing about #dCrops is that you don't have to spend hours on it every day. You are certainly encouraged and incentivized to devise a strategy for what the best, most efficient way to plant and harvest your crops is, but once you have that figured out, you really only need to actually do something when the seeds mature. This could be every couple days or three, four, even seven or ten days. Depends on your strategy and how many crops you have to harvest.

In the meantime, you can earn daily HIVE for Holding Rewards and/or a nice batch of CROP tokens for harvesting and selling your crops (which, incidentally, can go towards increasing your Holding Rewards, thus earning you more daily HIVE).

Simple.

It's entertaining, cheap, and easy. Right now card packs are sold out but there will be more coming. Probably not quite as much fanfare as the #Splinterlands offerings but...you've got to start somewhere. Plus, who doesn't like to earn free HIVE?!?

Check it out here.

Happy Farming!

So can I assume that dCrops is just like dCity? I have not started yet, and am curious. While I understand that you should not play just to earn, what kind of.invest is required up front to get a solid account and mine some nfts.

Are the holding rewards the same way the sim power works?

So much to learn !BEER !PIZZA

I don't actually play dCity so I'm not sure how to compare them. As far as upfront investment goes, at this point it's a little hard to do. There is a Market in the game in which you can buy individual seeds and/or land. You can also buy packs on LeoDex/TribalDex under the name DCALPHA as well as buying CROP tokens from the same place(s). To purchase cards in the Market you'll need either swap.hive or CROP. Things are probably a little spendy right now to get started since there aren't any packs available but you can get a small farm going for a few swap.hive to at least get a feel for the game so you know what you want to do when the new packs are released. Last I heard they wouldn't be out until after the first of the year.

As for the holding rewards, yes, I think they're similar. You get a percentage of a HIVE pool based on how much CROP power you have. The cards are worth something depending on rarity, CROP is worth 1 pt each, packs are 2000. You DO need to have at least 20,000 CROP power to start receiving rewards and it takes a 15 day average so you wouldn't start getting the rewards until you've held 20,000 for at least that 15 days.

If you go into the game, there are links you can click on that explain everything pretty well.

So because of your post I finally decided to start with dCrops. Spent around 37 HIVE to get me started. Wish I had more to start the game but it seems like this season is ending already so I won't get the rewards. My question is what happens to the cabbage I just planted? Will I not be able to harvest it since it says it will be harvested in 10 days (but a little over 2 days left in this season)?

No. Unfortunately it has to finish during the season in order to harvest it. You kind of need to plan out how you want to do things at the beginning of the season. Each card can only be used once a season unless it's a legendary that just keeps replanting after you harvest it. You basically need a lot more cards than land in order to maximize your returns throughout the season.

Like I said, now is a good time to kind of get your feet wet so you know what you're doing when the next packs are released.

I'm already spending a lot of time playing and reading about Splinterlands and Rising Star, but I do want to get into dCity as soon as possible. The game looks lovely and remembers me the old FarmVille!
