HBD Savings Continue To Grow During The Bear | 5M HBD Now In Savings!
The amount of HBD in savings is now close to 5M. Still not exactly there, 4.9M to be more accurate. Still it is a milestone.
At the beginning of the year there was 2M HBD in savings. Meaning this has grown from 2M to 5M HBD in savings. We can notice even sharper growth in the last 30 days when another 1M was added.
The overall circulating supply at the moment is 9M, meaning 55% of all the HBD is in savings. At the begging of the year this share was around 15%.
The Hive debt is around 6% now, still far from the 30% limit.
Even though HBD is set to deppeg by design if the debt limit is reached, obviously users have confidence in the system and have been stacking HBD in savings throughout all the year.
There is 500 accounts with more than 1000 HBD in savings and overall a 10k accounts with some amount of HBD in savings.
I am close to a 1000 in savings, I will round that cap by the end of the month!
It's a wonderful tool for the grim darkness of the bear market, being able to stack stable coins and get great APR on them. But the best part is you can use the stash of HBD to buy Hive when it drops in price
Are you still waiting?
yup, there is plenty of bear market left. Nothing wrong with enjoying 20% APR for HBD while I wait :)
Interesting, looks like it's even accelerated a bit recently.
Yes it has
It feels great that we can park some HBD into saving to curb volatility in these tough crypto market times.

Hey, I am currently working on total HBD in Savings for Hive Open Stats, and I'm getting a little less HBD. Up to the end of Dec 24th 2022, I'm getting that there is 4.56M HBD in Savings.
I'm simply getting the amount transferred to savings and subtracting from it the amount transferred from savings.
To double-check the result, I ran these queries in HiveSQL:
Adding up each year, and then subtracting the sums, seems to add to 4.5M.
Do you have a different way of doing the calculation to get the total HBD in Savings? Am I missing something? Would be good to see why we get different results.
Hey, please ping my main next time @dalz so I don't miss it :)
You need to add the claimed HBD interest, as that one also goes in the savings.
Thanks. :) Realized that was what I missed.
