Top Accounts That Converted HIVE To HBD
Here are the accounts that converted most HIVE to HBD to take advantage of the recent HBD pump.
@mika comes on top with almost 900k HIVE converted to HBD.
This account has been a HBD whale for a long time holding around 1M HBD in the past.
@hivehbd and @konvik-hbd are on the next spots.
A total of 2.8M HIVE was effectively converted to HBD, creating 1.4M HBD in a period of two days.
The conversion mechanics were the main reason to bring the peg down so fast. The @hbdstabilizer by itself didn't had the enough liquidity in such a short period of time.
While this deppeg shows HBD as unstable again even on the upside, it shows another thing and that is the period of deppeging are short lived and becoming shorter with time. Users just need some patience and can enter or exit HBD around the one dollar mark.

But converting hive to HBD is going to be a loss, isn't it ? I mean when HBD price is high, you get less HBD, right ? First time hearing about @mika, a known whale ?
With conversions the blockchain gives you price for HBD of 1.05, no matter the external prices on the markets. The blockchain values HBD at 1.05. So you convert HIVE to HBD for 1.05, and then sell it on the external markets for the higher price what is there ... its arbitrage mechanics
These top whales are millionaires. It's a lot of money involved !

the truth is that there is a large amount of HBD in the friend's account and yes you have to have some patience since the opportunities come and that is where we must take advantage
Why would I convert Hive in HBD when HBD pumps? Seems I lose money after HBD goes back down. Or did I miss something?

It's a bit challenging to compute but it would be nice to know how much the blockchain (including DHF) earned from this pump. Most obvious is the 5% fee on HIVE to HBD conversions (so 5% of 1.4M HBD: 70K HBD or 140K HIVE) but the stabilizer also made a profit here that got returned to DHF.
This will be the 5% fee and the DHF?
I can't think of any other way the blockchain benefits directly, can you? It is possible I'm missing something.

There are so many odd ball accounts with huge wealth in them for instance shinlevel2 shinlevel3 and raws makes ya wonder some times.
