I.A.A.C DAY 288: Take Good Health Measures during this hot weather

Hello and welcome hiveans. I'm @daniky, and this is day 288 of my entry to #IAmAliveChallenge, an initiative by Eric Gustafsson @flaxz.

We are presently in the summer period in Nigeria. The level of hotness during this period is very alarming, and you can hardly spend 30 minutes under the sun and still feel normal.

From my school of thought, we were made to know that this period is one characterized by intense dehydration. So there's always a need to constantly rehydrate ourselves and avoid lots of salt in our diet. Salt is known to be a drying agent, which has the potential to cause high blood pressure and hypertension.

Another thing I learnt long ago was about the effect of the sun's ultraviolet radiation on the earth's surface. This occurs as a result of the depletion of the ozone layer in the stratosphere. Human activities like bush burning, burnings of fuel and tyres, and the effects of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) contribute to this depletion, which should be regulated. Planting of trees should be encouraged in our vicinity, which will later act as a shield on our ecosystem; man, animals, plants, and the soil.

Within this hot season, the rate of fainting victims has skyrocketed due to excessive brain water dehydration. More glucose is expected to be taken with drinking water at regular intervals to boost energy and fuel the system with sufficient nutrients. The level of sexual activities should be regulated within this heat period as well.

So hivean, do well to build yourself and make sure to add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. Avoid strenuous exercises. Be health-conscious and never take information for granted. Stay safe, awesome and alive.
