Splinterlands - My First Leveled Up Summoner - General Sloan
Five days ago, I had posted that I needed leveled up summoners to be more competitive.

I had already started saving for that particular goal prior to that point in time and did not yet have enough to purchase even one of the lowest priced summoners or so I thought.
DEC Savings
A few months ago, I was moving any extra funds I received into the Hive Engine and then purchasing DEC with those funds. I had not moved them into the game so I had basically forgotten I had them.
My original reasoning was that I was holding the DEC so that I would have a higher SPS airdrop which would cause me to have a higher Voucher airdrop.
Well, now that the Voucher airdrop has been reduced and Vouchers starting the end of this week, are no longer required to purchase packs. I made the decision that I needed the collection power in my account more than I needed the SPS airdrop. The additional collection power will put me in the higher league which will earn me additional DEC so I figured it was better at this time to have a more competitive deck in a higher league than waiting for the price of SPS and DEC to recover.
General Sloan
I choose to start with General Sloan as the first leveled up Summoner. There were several listed on the market for $3.46 which was lower than the $3.70 when I had posted about getting summoners 5 days ago. So I was able to purchase 5 cards with 4,133.652 DEC that I had in reserve.
Leveled Up General Sloan
I combined the 5 cards so now I have a Level 2 General Sloan and I can take advantage of the level 3 common, and level 2 rare/epic cards that I have in the Live and Neutral Splinters in my deck.
General Sloan Lore
Reega Sloan had started out as a healer and was renowned for her healing abilities. She was left destitute since the donations had dried up. Her journal was her only solace and she went to those listed in journal that she had healed but they were of no help. The Chaos magic had mixed with her own and twisted it to be more aggressive. This was the start of her advancement within the Chaos Legion.

You're welcome! Just try to level up some cards in level 2 and 3, specially those that are pretty cheap right now and with that you can get a leverage with your recently upgraded summoners. You will be fine!!!
That's a great move. Congrats. You now have a powerful summoner and can start to upgrade your deck with cards so that you can use their max potential. I would look for cards with range attack since this summoner increases their attack. Like that you will be able to make a difference in the long run.

Yes I agree that gold holds value better and generally gives more CP/$ for the dollar spent. I have 2 gold Obsidian and Kelya and two regular Thaddius and Quix the Devious. Quix I can't afford the gold foil of. I only like getting Tarsa and I am waiting on it to drop below $40 GF or $4 regular. I may wait on it until after the General sale opens as I think there will be some deals if you catch them. Several cards are getting above 100 CP/$ now so 40k is only $400 dollars if you only want CP.
