Black Magic? White Magic!

(Edited)

Let the God come down; only he can explain what transpired at Bernabeu! Can you explain this in terms of footballing tactics? I don’t understand anything about football anymore. How would you tell someone how this happened? Was it a fluke? According to Barcelona supporters and their head coach Xavi, that’s genuine. But how can you be lucky all the time! What about PSG and Chelsea! And now City, the favorites to win UCL. Everyone questioned, but again, again, Madrid pushed ahead with another historic comeback in the UCL.

Magic and Luck are pretty similar, with minor variances. Both are stunning, but magic is proclaimed from early on. Everyone knows something is about to happen. There is a confidence in magic that doesn’t conform to luck. Real Madrid fell in a 3-4 defeat to City at Etihad despite another exhibition of comebacks. But Madrid supporters were convinced about the magnificent night at the Bernabeu. The team felt certain about it. And why would they not be?

Let’s hear a short story. In the 1984-85 UEFA Cup semifinal, Madrid was 2-0 down at San Siro. After the game, Juanito approached the Inter defender and said one of the most famous and iconic Madrid quotes ever -

90 MiNUTi EN EL BERNABEU SON MOLTO LONGO

90 minutes in the Bernabeu is a very long time

In the second leg at the Bernabeu, Inter soon realized that ninety minutes is indeed a very long time in the Bernabeu as they succumbed 3-0 to Madrid. Later on, Madrid went on to clinch the silverware.

From that instant, it became an incentive for all the Madridistas. That’s why all the fans vowed they would turn around City’s lead and book their passage to Paris. No one believed them; they were ridiculed. But their backers and players didn’t lose hope. Madrid supporters were their strength. The support from the street to the stadium, the enthusiasm, and the belief was incredible. That’s what made that night magical.

Even Pep remarked if a Suffering Barcelona can score past them twice the double, they can reproduce it. Everyone was confident of Madrid’s fall. Madrid was playing brilliantly but with zero-shot on target. Their supporters were constantly behind them, but nothing appeared to work at that time. Vinicius failed to convert the closest opening of the game. Madrid was in crying need of a goal. In the 68th minute, Rodrygo came in for kroos. The objective was simply to provide additional firepower. But in football, things don’t always pan out the way intended. In the 73rd minute, Manchester City scored the game’s opener, doubling the pressure on Madrid. In the 89th minute, Real Madrid had just a 1% chance to advance.

Instead of buckling under duress, the hosts raised the ante and scored two quick goals through Rodrygo in the dying embers of usual intervals.

Even the legendary Pele himself couldn’t wait to applaud his countryman for this remarkable feat.

After the match, Rodrygo stated he made a bet with his father to score three goals against Mancity. He is not pleased yet with his two epic goals, so he intends to pay the debt in Paris!

Madrid won a penalty in the 92nd minute. Benzema offered it to Rodrygo to complete a Semifinal hat-trick, which would be an outstanding achievement for anybody. But Rodrygo disputed it. He wanted Benzema to take it since Benzema practiced a lot of Penalties in training. The team triumph was more crucial than individual accomplishment. What a gesture from a young boy! Karim Benzema then converted the penalty to put Real Madrid 3-1 ahead on the night. The score-line stayed steady until the final whistle as the Spanish champions clinched a 6-5 aggregate triumph.

Luck, they say! You weren't better than any team, they insist!

You call it a fluke; I call it WHITE MAGIC. Every Madrid player is a drop-dead devotee of this club. They are willing to fight and die for it. And they just did it. This is what I call footballing heritage. UCL has never witnessed a wild run to the final. If Madrid wins the 2022 UCL, it will be the most exquisite UCL season ever. Madrid is the first team to lose a match in the Round of 16, quarter-final, and semi-final and still advance to the Champions League final.

One team can't be this lucky all the time. There's a perfect mixture of experience and youth in this team and these players fully understand the importance of playing for a team like Real Madrid. This is what keeps them going and makes sure they never give up until the final whistle is blown. And if they don't win this title, it will be the most undeserving losses in recent memory.

Totally agree with you. Liverpool and Salah just made the atmosphere too hot by talking about Revenge. This will be a classic. If Madrid ends up winning, it would be the best UCL run ever. Even more legendary than Porto.

True. I just hope that Liverpool don't go to that match with that revenge mentality as that might turn out to be their Achilles

Manchester City and Guardiola will never forget that night in Spain in a hurry. It was just too hard to believe the outcome of that match. But it is what it is.

Ancelotti goes to Paris while Guardiola goes back to England to battle for the EPL with Jurgen Klopp

Guardiola, before the match, said that if Barcelona can beat them 4-0, they can also do that. He admitted that he and his players couldn’t be able to forget that night. While everyone praises Madrid, English Media and Xavi think Madrid got just too lucky to play in Paris. This is ridiculous.

Yeah, I must admit that there was a bit of luck attached to that win by Real Madrid; we don't get to see such victories every day. I mean it happened so fast.

All the same, I'd say that Madrid had the right mindset and composure in the game which also contributed to their success.

This was truely another interesitng performance by real. It seems like they are always lucky, but I dont believe that you can be lukcy that often in such a short time. It is all results of determination and hard work. I am very interested to see the final against Liverpool. It would not surprise me if Real manages to beat them once again.
