Here we go!!!!?

It's a new season and a new boss for United as Erik ten Hag became the eighth manager (including caretakers) to take charge of the Red Devils since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. Six of United's previous seven managers in that period have won their first game in charge of the club; Ten Hag wanted a similarly excellent start as he attempted to bring the team back into the top four.

Brighton had their most extraordinary top-flight result last season under Graham Potter, winding up in the ninth position. The Seagulls closed last season impressively, losing only one of their final nine Premier League games. Potter's club is hard to beat and was an early test of United's skills this year.

MANCHESTER UNITED (4-2-3-1): David de Gea; Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire (c), Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw; Scott McTominay, Fred; Jadon Sancho, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes; Marcus Rashford.

SUBS: Anthony Elanga, Alejandro Garnacho, Raphael Varane, Donny van de Beek, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Tyrell Malacia, Tom Heaton, James Garner.

Ten Hag's first United line-up had a familiar feel; although he did award Martinez and Eriksen, their first league starts for the club. Rashford led the lineup front. Ronaldo started this game on the bench.

BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION (3-4-3): Robert Sanchez; Joel Veltman, Lewis Dunk (c), Adam Webster; Solly March, Alexis Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo, Leandro Trossard; Pascal Gross, Danny Welbeck, Adam Lallana.

SUBS: Tariq Lamptey, Jan-Paul van Hecke, Kaoru Mitoma, Jeremy Sarmiento, Jason Steele, Neal Maupay, Enock Mwepu, Levi Samuels Colwill, Deniz Undav.

Brighton named a starting 11 made entirely of players on their books last season. Welbeck started up front against his childhood club. Chelsea loanee Colwill was named on the bench.

This was the first time United would open a top-flight season against Brighton in their history, a reminder of Brighton's rapid advancement in prior seasons. The Seagulls never won away at Old Trafford, but they hammered United 4-0 at home in their previous league encounter in May. United's players would love to make amends for that game here.

In the 30th minute, Trossard frees Welbeck down the left. United was caught out badly. Their attempted offside trap didn't work, and Welbeck had way too much time. The Englishman looked up and rolled the ball towards the far post, where Gross arrived to finish from point-blank range.

Gross has scored five goals against United in the Premier League, two more than he has against any other team. Only Mohamed Salah has scored more against the Red Devils than the German since he arrived at Brighton in 2017-18.

United didn't appear too terrible, but they've been unconvincing thus far. Before they could lift their heads, BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION stormed again. The visitors raced upfield from near their corner flag, and March shifted onto his left foot to shoot. De Gea couldn't hold the shot, and Gross lashed the rebound into the top right corner!

Ronaldo strolled up front for United. Fred was the player sacrificed to bring him on. United forced two quick second-half corners, the second down their left, which Eriksen took. Dunk got to it first with a dominant header, but Brighton had nowhere to go for the time being. United were getting closer to scoring, but not close enough yet. Dalot looked up and floated a cross towards Brighton's box. It sailed over Ronaldo to Rashford at the far post, but the Englishman's left-footed volley was off-target. Sanchez dived to his right to keep out Eriksen's skidding shot from the edge of the box. United got a corner out of it.

United's corner came in. The ball bounced off Dalot towards the bottom right corner. Sanchez jumped across to keep it out, but Mac Allister got there first to put it into his own net. That went down as Mac Allister's own goal after a quick VAR check for handball.

Felt like a classic comeback like previous seasons. But deep down, we all knew this squad was unable to perform their magic. Something was missing. That glimpse of spark was never seen again. Something is dead, and that can't be hope, but unfortunately, this is what it is.

I don't know what's wrong. Top players are struggling to perform. Players are not thrilled to join them anymore. A new manager has been assigned to shift the stones. It will be difficult but not impossible. But if the manager can't get his hand on the players he demands, it's a headache and the pain has been activated again, louder and worse—same United, same situation, same hassle for a new man. In Fabrizio Romano's words, here we go!!!!?

Same players slipping back into what they know best as they cannot take pressure. The manager cannot change this and new players have to be bought in and the average players moved on. This is not a confidence thing as they are not playing as a team as they don't have the quality to do that and why every know and then you see individuals doing something great. You cannot rely on individuals to win games each week as United has to be the easiest team to score against. Maybe a top 10 is possible but that may be asking too much of this team. New players do not want to join this club as everyone else can see the problems.

Nothing changed. New day same United. Against Benford United players ran around 15 kilometers less than opponents. United need the soul that they lost.

I haven't used any pictures from Getty images this time. I checked again and again. I have used picture from Goal, Clubs official pages and from News articles. Getty Image can't claim them in any mean. I have even seen Getty Images water mark in a picture which I saw in Madrid Facebook page. I have given proper credit in every picture.

I think Manchester United form haven’t been that good after Ferguson departure because new coaches aren’t given much time to build their team. Erik ten hag Should be given more time and all the early criticism should stop, just my opinion.

To be honest the problem is within the players. Benford match explains everything. Eric Ten Hag definitely should get proper time otherwise United's Glory days will be a myth in near future.
