Brotherly Love.

Hello Brethren, hope everyone is doing good. I was fortunate to join in the MCGI prayer meeting spearheaded by Brother Daniel, Brother Rodel and Brother Joseph where they expounded the word of God on Brotherly Love through the following scriptures:

Heb 13:1, Col 3:14, 1 John 3:17-18, James 2:13, John 3:16, 1 Pet 2:10, Heb 13:2, Matt 25:34-45, Jude 1:21, Matt 5:7, Luke 1:50, Psalm 103:13 Luke 6:36, James 3:17, Titus 3:5-6

Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.(KJV)

From the lessons I learnt as brother Daniel explained this scripture, it's obvious that we are living in a word where the love of many are going down, where you love me because I love you, where I visit you because you visited me etc. Contrarily, brotherly love calls for a selfless rendition of service to one another and people within ones confined capacity to help.

We are encouraged to love as Brothers, because there wouldn't be any quarrel when there is brotherly love. People wouldn't envy and fight each other when there is brotherly love, and by doing so, we will make our cosmos a better and safer place for all.

*Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.(KJV)

Som people negate the fact that love isn't just a character or trait of importance in Christianity but a must have value if we must proof the perfection given to us by God.

From this chapter of the Bible, we would observe how Apostle Paul admonished the Colossian Church and over every other thing he made mention, he was sincere enough to tell the Church to put on love which is the bond of perfection.

As Christians we have to proof to the world that we are different. We aren't perfect without love and there is no difference if love isn't in us. Paul said that even if he should give his body to be burnt and without love it is all a waste.

Love is a strong virtue that we must subscribe to because it is a proof of our reality in this world because even God himself is Love according to 1 John 4:8

1 John 3:17-18 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.(KJV)

This is an admonition to all believers to always show love and compassion to people, and I must appreciate the MCGI community for the incredible rendition they're offering to the world, God bless them.

We must identify with this scripture to proof we are real Christians. We must be ready to love by giving, helping and assisting people according to our capacity. This' has really been my prayer to give and also assist people as the Lord gives me the capacity to do so.

It doesn't speak well of most Christians when it is in our possession to help and we aren't offering those helps. We must learn to give because God taught us to give and he gave his all to us whereby he gave us His only begotten Son Jesus Christ according to John 3:16.

My late Daddy once told me a story concerning a Pastor whom his neighbor knew could help him so he went to him. When the Pastor saw His member, he asked him to go to the altar and wait for him as he later prayed for him.

This scene stunned and enraged the man after his pastor's prayer over what he has the capacity to do for Him. So we must not only love in words but in deed and in action as Christians.

James 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.(KJV)

I love how Brother Daniel expantiated this part of the scripture. He said that mercy is part of love. This means that someone cannot love without mercy but someone else can have mercy without having love in him.

So mercy is one of the factors of love while love is a product of mercy.
God wouldn't show us mercy if we don't show mercy to others because the mercy of man is the mercy of God and when we don't show mercy to our fellow men, God will deny His own mercy from us in His judgment.

There is something about God. It is we human that are so stringent on our rules but God is a God of mercy and principles who is also full of compassion. We could see how a criminal who ought to rot in hell but on account of his kind words to our Lord Jesus, his sins were pardoned.
So we have to show compassion to people especially when it's in our hands to do so.

In Matt 25:34-45 was an expression of the kind of people that would be in in God's kingdom. They are people who are compassionate, caring, who identifies with the problems and sorrows of others.

Certain things will leave people in perplexity in that judgement day. I have observed that the kingdom is not just in words but in deed and action, and we must do all we could to enter into God's rest in the end of time.

We have to feed the hungry, show hospitality to strangers, cloth the poor, visit those in hospitals and prisons as to be proven good citizen of the kingdom we belong.

According to the passage in Titus 3:5-6, it is obvious that we weren't saved by any work of righteousness we have done but rather God's mercy towards us.

So if God has shown us mercy through his son Jesus Christ, we also have to show mercy to others in which ever way God has helped us.

Conclusion

Our love must be without bound if we must be real children of God. I must appreciate the MGCI community for their incredible work to humanity.

We must have compassion and mercy to others even as God has forgiven us in Christ Jesus by the shedding of His blood.

We make the world a safer and pleasurable place to live when we are able show love to people because the world is nothing without humanity.
