Hola gente linda de Hive, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un poco desde mi breve experiencia y mi punto de vista sobre uno de los empleos que se ha vuelto muy famoso y muy solicitado en los últimos años, por el gran crecimiento y el gran impacto de las redes sociales en temas de publicidad y mercadeo, lo que es el community manager y social media.
Hello beautiful people of Hive, today I want to share with you a little from my brief experience and my point of view on one of the jobs that has become very famous and in demand in recent years, by the great growth and the great impact of social networks in advertising and marketing issues, which is the community manager and social media.
Empecemos por la parte donde estudie y me gradué como TSU o técnico medio en publicidad y mercado, pero que en realidad es una carrera que no me gusta mucho y en esa época no se hablaba para nada sobre las redes sociales, nuestras clases eran sobre la publicidad y el mercado tradicional. Hace casi 5 años atrás, ingrese en una empresa de servicios como analista de mercadeo, siendo este mi primer empleo en una de mis áreas, pero lo que realmente hacia no tenia casi nada que ver con mercadeo, más bien parecía la asistente de todos los gerentes de productos.
Let's start with the part where I studied and graduated as a TSU or medium technician in advertising and marketing, but in reality it is a career that I do not really like and at that time we did not talk at all about social networks, our classes were about advertising and traditional marketing. Almost 5 years ago, I joined a service company as a marketing analyst, being this my first job in one of my areas, but what I really did had almost nothing to do with marketing, it seemed more like the assistant of all the product managers.
El año pasado a causa de la pandemia perdí mi empleo, pero hice muy buenas amistades y una de estas fue mi ex-supervisora que amaba el mercadeo y era una experta en marketing digital, ella creo su propia marca, su página web, y comenzó a realizar talleres sobre redes sociales, hacia publicidad (ads) en las diferentes redes de marcas reconocidas y además de crear contenido para varias cuentas de marcas en Instagram y Facebook, así como también crear todo el diseño, porque ella es diseñadora gráfica y licenciada en publicidad y mercadeo.
Last year because of the pandemic I lost my job, but I made very good friends and one of these was my ex-supervisor who loved marketing and was an expert in digital marketing, she created her own brand, her website, and began to conduct workshops on social networks, advertising (ads) in different networks of recognized brands and also create content for various brand accounts on Instagram and Facebook, as well as creating all the design, because she is a graphic designer and a graduate in advertising and marketing.
Ella sabia que yo era muy buena empleada y le gustaba como trabajaba, y me ofreció trabajar con ella apoyándola con diversas actividades (ella cree que a mi me encanta el mercadeo) esas actividades eran relacionadas a pautar anuncios en las redes, a llevar el registro de estas pautas y también ayudarla a crear contenido para varias cuentas de instagram, y aquí es donde comienza mi odisea.
She knew that I was a very good employee and liked the way I worked, and she offered me to work with her supporting her with several activities (she thinks I love marketing) those activities were related to posting ads on the networks, keeping track of these guidelines and also helping her to create content for several instagram accounts, and this is where my odyssey begins.
¿Ustedes se preguntaran por qué le llamo odisea? y honestamente porque en primer lugar este tema de las redes sociales es muy absorbente, en estos momentos yo la estoy apoyando con 3 cuentas de instagram, donde en 2 cuentas tengo que crear contenido los 7 días de la semana y de la otra cuenta solo 5 días a la semana. Así que ya puedo comenzar diciendo que tener que sentarme a pensar sobre que temas escribir para cada día de la semana, buscar palabras y crear un texto llamativo, persuasivo, que atraiga la atención de la gente a la cuenta, para que la sigan y le den me gusta, es todo un sufrimiento para mi.
You may wonder why I call it odyssey? and honestly because first of all this social media is very absorbing, at the moment I am supporting it with 3 instagram accounts, where in 2 accounts I have to create content 7 days a week and the other account only 5 days a week. So I can already start saying that having to sit down and think about what topics to write about for each day of the week, look for words and create a striking, persuasive text, that attracts people's attention to the account, so that they follow it and give it likes, is all a suffering for me.
En segundo lugar, porque no solo es crear el contenido, también es montar cada anuncio cada día en la mañana colocarle los tag y adicional a eso montar 3 historias de cada cuenta, cosa que es generar más contenido para la cuenta. Y no solo eso, sino que también se trata de interactuar con las personas, comentar, responder mensajes, dar me gusta, y ver estados, entonces imagínense pasar todo un santo día pegada al celular o computadora para hacerle seguimiento a 3 cuentas diferentes.
Secondly, because it is not only creating content, it is also mounting each ad every day in the morning to place the tag and in addition to that to mount 3 stories of each account, which is to generate more content for the account. And not only that, but it is also about interacting with people, commenting, replying to messages, liking, and viewing statuses, so imagine spending a whole day glued to your cell phone or computer to follow up on 3 different accounts.
Realmente si te gusta todo esto, debes estar dispuesto a dedicar día y noche, sobre todo porque siempre tienes que estar al tanto de las ultimas tendencias, las ultimas estrategias y saber como utilizarlas. Mi actual jefa como yo le llamo es una mujer genial y maravillosa, súper inteligente, pero también vive súper ocupada, porque ese es un trabajo que ella realizaba anteriormente, pero como absorbe tanto tiempo, me pidió el apoyo, porque ya ella vive ocupada con otras cosas.
If you really like all this, you must be willing to dedicate day and night, especially because you always have to be aware of the latest trends, the latest strategies and know how to use them. My current boss as I call her is a great and wonderful woman, super smart, but also lives super busy, because that is a job that she did before, but as it absorbs so much time, she asked me for support, because she already lives busy with other things.
Y yo acepto cada reto de ella porque realmente necesito el dinero, aunque tampoco es una millonada, porque ustedes se preguntaran cuanta pagan por esto, la verdad no se cuanto en realidad ella cobra por todo esto, porque hablamos de crear contenido por un mes completo, pero yo no soy una experta ni especialista en este tema, pero en mi caso ella me paga en total como 70$ dólares que en realidad eso aquí en mi país Venezuela no es nada, son 70$ dólares que se te va solo en comprar comida para una quincena, por así decirlo y me quedo corta, es decir, que no es casi nada.
And I accept every challenge from her because I really need the money, although it is not a millionaire, because you may wonder how much they pay for this, the truth is that I do not know how much she actually charges for all this, because we are talking about creating content for a full month, but I am not an expert or specialist in this subject, but in my case she pays me a total of about $70 dollars that in reality that here in my country Venezuela is nothing, it is $70 dollars that goes only to buy food for two weeks, so to speak and I'm short, that is, it is almost nothing.
Pero hay días donde quiero decirle Jean Mary renuncio jajajaj en serio, es que cada noche tengo que pensar en nuevas ideas para publicar en los estados y es algo que me agobia, porque siento que quita muchísimo tiempo, de otras cosas que me gustaría poder hacer. Pero si realmente te interesa todo el tema del marketing digital, de verdad tienes que amarlo, tiene que ser tu pasión para que lo puedas disfrutar, sobre todo para crear contenido fresco y que atraiga al publico objetivo y no solo eso, también para lograr conseguir nuevos seguidores.
But there are days where I want to tell Jean Mary I quit hahahahah seriously, it's that every night I have to think of new ideas to post in the statuses and it's something that overwhelms me, because I feel it takes away a lot of time from other things I would like to do. But if you are really interested in digital marketing, you really have to love it, it has to be your passion so you can enjoy it, especially to create fresh content that attracts the target audience and not only that, also to get new followers.
El colmo de todo, es que yo soy de las que ama entrar en instagram, pero para ver el contenido de los demás y lo que hago es ver post y post y post, y soy de las que le da me gusta a todos los post que llaman mi atención y los guarda todos, y estoy hablando de mi cuenta de instagram personal, al igual que en facebook, si veo información de valor, la comparto y le doy me gusta, y tengo que ponerme un freno, porque sino, no salgo nunca de instagram y facebook, porque siento que consigo mucha información valiosa desde cursos, talleres, consejos y hasta noticias.
The last straw is that I am one of those who loves to enter instagram, but to see the content of others and what I do is see post and post and post, and I am one of those who likes all the posts that catch my attention and saves them all, and I'm talking about my personal instagram account, just like on facebook, if I see valuable information, I share it and I like it, and I have to put a brake on myself, because otherwise, I never leave instagram and facebook, because I feel that I get a lot of valuable information from courses, workshops, tips and even news.

Vaya, esta queja la he escuchado de muchos colegas periodistas agobiados por tener que hacer demasiadas cosas como community managers, porque es algo que no tiene horario, deben atenderlo las 24 horas, y leyendo que sólo te pagan $70 y de paso no lo disfrutas, entiendo que quieras renunciar...
De verdad siento que es demasiado, y lo comparto con ustedes porque ni modo de decirle a mi amiga, me da pena porque yo fui la que me ofrecí tanto porque necesitaba el pago extra y para apoyarla también, pero jamás me imagine que esto seria tan agobiante y demandante.
