It's almost my birthday 🎂

I will be celebrating my birthday next week Friday, October 1st

Luckily for me, it's also a public holiday in Nigeria - it is going to be a long weekend for me.

Nigeria celebrates her Independence Day on that day as well, so a public holiday is declared to commemorate with the country on her Independence 🇳🇬.

Reminiscing on the past years, it has been a wonderful one. I'm not where I want to be yet but I'm making notable progress every day of my life.

I'm quite excited about my birthday for a number of reasons. I love the atmosphere that comes with it. It is a mini celebrity experience.

It is that time of the year when friends that we haven't talked all year will call and send text. I have a couple of friends that the only time we talk is during my birthday.

It like a annual thing - I cherish it so much that at least I'm being remembered.

On the other hand, there are these set of friends and family that usually put up my pictures and write sweet things about me on WhatsApp. Sometimes I will say to myself "why are you lying?" when the sweet words are too SWEET 😂.

Not to forget the friends that get to remember our birthday as a result of Facebook birthday notifications. As we grow in life, we tend to be busy and engage with a lot of activities, remembering someone's birthday may be the least on our mind unless the person is so dear to us.
