We have so many things that we need to attend to every day from family, work, and also personal issues to the extent that we wish more hours can be added to a day so that there will be room to achieve more. However, a lot can still be achieved within the 24 hours that we've got in a day if and only if there is adequate planning and conscious effort is put towards it. One of the things that productive people have in common with unproductive people is that they both have access to the same number of hours in a day but one utilizes it more than the other.

It is a fact that there is no one who is in a right frame of mind who will be happy to wake up in the morning and go to bed in the night without recording any achievement (no matter how minute it may be). We all strive to be productive in our own way and even the people who may be tagged as good-for-nothing, idle or lazy may have the intention of using their time and energy for something useful but they do not know how to conquer the spirit of laziness and start their journey of productivity.

Before we proceed let's get something pretty straight. There is a huge difference between being productive and being busy. I saw a short clip on social media sometimes ago that if you want to look busy in your office while doing nothing walk as fast as possible when you are going from one office to another. This will give people the notion that you are an hard-working and productive person. Hmm! Productivity have to do with your ability to achieve something tangible within a specific period of time. Productivity have to do with how efficient you are able to complete a task and not necessarily the hours you spent doing something.

For you to be productive you must be in the right frame of mind and a person who is going through stress may not be classified to be in the right frame of mind. Therefore, rest is key to being productive. There is no way your brain is going to perform effectively and efficiently if you are stressed out from too much work. Practice how to rest regularly and watch how you will perform excellently in the coming days. This is one of the reason it is advisable for parents to allow their kids eat and rest for a while before starting their home lesson or assignments. As a staff in a company, as a husband or wife in the home, as a student in the school, you need to rest well so as to be productive in your different area of concentration.

Additionally, creating a plan for the day in the form of a to-do list is also a great way to be productive. You have began your journey of productivity the moment you designated specific time to specific activities through the course of your day. However, it is not enough to break down your activities into segments but the most important thing is staying true to it. Distractions may be a challenge for you. If you keep pressing your mobile phone when you are supposed to be carrying out an activity at a particular time, the time frame will be wasted and you may have to use another time which is meant for something else to make up for the activity you lost.

There are quite a number of distractions that hinders productivity and it may take the whole day to do justice to the topic. But, one of the major form of distractions nowadays is our smartphone. It is the reason why we miss our deadlines because we are busy chatting with friends, watching videos or playing video games. In order to overcome the temptation of staying glue to your mobile phone you may imbibe the habit of putting it on silent when you are doing something important or even putting it away from you.
