Reducing taxes, the side of government and general government overreach is most of the time a good decision, especially with an oversized government just like the American one.

I doubt we are going to see a reduction in size anytime soon. During my lifetime, regardless of party in control, government only got larger.
The best we can hope for is to mitigate the damage until we have an alternate system set up.

Well, there is a reduction in people being born and the US is being very nice to those of us who have kids right now.
Makes me want to have more (just kidding, I have enough).

Yes there is a slowdown in the growth rate of the native population. However, the US, for now, is a desired destination so the overall growth rate is still there.
But government will keep getting bigger if the past is any indication. That is a pool that just keeps growing.

I got a little confused by your definition of "native" population.
But it was just a little hiccup, I know what you mean.
I am steady in my belief that the "Original" people of the US will keep growing to the point where it will not matter who immigrates here - it will once again be a brown continent.
That is why the debt feels to me like monopoly money - and opinions are made knowing it doesn't much matter waht I suggest. The financial beast is gonna do waht the financialbeast does.
