September LPUD and the LEO&HODL Contest!

Thank you @ifarmgirl-leo for the tag. I really appreciate it. For over a month, I have been anticipating the LPUD. Why? I will get to that later. First, let me tell you why I am participating in the LPUD.

What is LPUD

For those that do not know, LPUD is an acronym for Leo Power Up Day and I had no clue the benefits until I came across a few people who took it upon themselves to explain it. I was a bit active on the LeoFinance community in my early Hive days but let's be honest, the motives were not really encouraging and I soon lost the fire.

However, I found my way back thanks to LeoThreads and the famous Saturday Savers, so here I am, joining the Leo-wagon. Apart from contributing to the Leo community and making long term investment, powering up Leo also increases your curation rewards.

The benefits of the LPUD

I'll explain the best way I got to understand. I started to focus on saving and staking tokens so as to build my Hive account and also make good profits from them. It is similar to LeoFinance. When I stake Leo, I am making a small contribution and I get rewarded for it. Also, I get to save and build my portfolio with their reward pool. Cool huh? I am still learning but I am excited! Joining and participating in the LPUD also makes you eligible for rewards. For me who seeks to build and spread my wings here on this blockchain, I feel it would give me the boost I need especially in saving. Let's not forget the badge it comes with thanks to HiveBuzz.

I had staked Leo tokens once and that was in my early Hive days. I was active in the Leo community but as I explained earlier, I was in it for quick cash. Well, I have learned my lesson. I accumulated about a hundred tokens and if there was an LPUD back then, I was unaware so I just staked using the Hive-Engine on PeakD. I was going to do the same thing again but thank God for knowledgeable friends.

I have been looking forward to joining the LPUD because not only do I get to tick a goal as achieved for this month but I also get to increase my earning on Leo and this also encourages the engager out of me. I keep promising to get to it but never do, so how about a small motivation? I had to sell some tokens to get Leo that'll make up my 150 for the power up. Not only did I get it, I also got a little more. Also thanks to the @ladiesofhive community for rewarding in Leo too. I was a lucky one! Hehehehe.

How do I stake/power up Leo?

So without further ado, let me show you how I powered up. I went to my page on Leofinance and headed straight for my wallet.

Then I proceeded to click on it, opening the view to my Leo wallet.

You can see, Leo Tokens and Leo Power. I have about a hundred and sixty Leo tokens which I would be powering up and about a hundred and seven Leo Power. Well, that's about to change.

I clicked on the power-up option and proceeded to do da deed.

The options of how much tokens you seek to power-up will be presented to you.

In cases where you do not have the keychain linked to your account, you may have to use Hivesigner. But in my case👇

And then the next thing I do is refresh my the page and voila!

I am 160 leo-power richer...hehehe.

It is that simple. This is my first ever official LPUD so I can not give clearer details but I am learning as I go. That is one beautiful thing about life as a whole. You keep on learning. You can see more details about the LPUD here. This post is also my response to the LEO&HODL Contest.
