Book 4 of 2023

I had the opportunity to meet with one of the top real estate developers in the city where I live. I had some questions for him and the first one was what books should I read.

He said there is only 1 book that I ask all my team members to read. The Go- Giver is that book. He said that it changed how he did business and allowed him to grow his business.

This is a fictional story teaching the 5 pillars of stratospheric success.

I thought this was a good book. Simple ideas but good to think about.

Below are the 5 laws that are in the story.

1. The Law of Value
   Your true worth is determined by
   how much more you give in value than you take in payment.

2. The Law of Compensation
   Your income is determined by
   how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

3. The Law of Influence
   Your influence is determined by
   how abundantly you place other people’s interests first.

4. The Law of Authenticity
   The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.

5. The Law of Receptivity
   The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

I think law 4 is one of the hardest to be when you are in the workplace. So often we are pushed to be someone else. I am trying to be authentic in my new job.
