I am happy to participate once again in the FOTOCELF contest, this time the theme of the contest is garbage, a topic that has great relevance since the volume of garbage on our beautiful planet earth is getting bigger and bigger.

As my mother would say:

If money yielded as much as garbage yields, we would be millionaires.

The photographs I present today are taken inside the patio of my house, I was tidying and cleaning this area and I noticed the amount of checheres as they are called here, which have accumulated over time.

As you can see in one corner there is a considerable amount of plastic containers, glass bottles, damaged kitchen utensils, metals and many other things, that taking into account its state, can be called garbage.

Now, why if these things are no longer used and honestly, a large part of this, will never be used, is in our backyard and not outside, the reason is simple, if all these things had been thrown away perhaps today would be hindering the beauty of our environment, polluting our natural resources, doing damage.

I am not saying that we are hoarders, what I am trying to convey, is that we should be aware of the things we throw away, where we throw them away and the destination that this garbage will have.

Recycling is the best way to reduce the volume of garbage we generate, for example it is incredible the use that can be given to soda bottles, in crafts, for the deposit of water and even as lost formwork in construction. I regret that in my country the recycling policy is not well organized and although there are several organizations that promote and encourage it, I think much more is needed.

Sorting the garbage is important: bones and food leftovers, should not necessarily go directly to the trash, if they are in good condition can serve as food for those unprotected animals that are in the street, just make sure to leave them in strategic places and not to throw things that hurt them. The rest, such as shells and others, can be used as organic material for the production of compost for agricultural purposes. The important thing is that you do not mix these organic things, with glass, metals or plastics.

As for this, glass, metals and plastics, you can analyze if you can get to give it a second use and if you can not think of anything, you can think of taking it even recycling center, donate or sell it and if still, you consider that it is best to throw it away, at least have the initiative to separate them, and if there are things of glass, label the bag somehow, so that the urban sanitation worker is not hurt, for example by cutting himself with a glass, I have seen that this is something that happens frequently.

There is a saying that goes, one man's trash can become another man's treasure. It is so perhaps, what we don't need today, someone is wanting but definitely our environment is not.
