The construction of this Hacienda began at the beginning of the year 1893, at the end of the XIX century, by a family of Italian immigrants with the surname Paparoni. When talking about Santa Cruz de Mora, in one way or another, this surname comes out to reduce this family, since this family played an important role in this population, from the cultural, economic and productive point of view.

The Hacienda has an area of approximately 4 hectares, was built for agricultural purposes, for the processing, drying and storage of coffee, an item of great importance to the locality, which is maintained until today.

As we can see in the photographs, it has the characteristic design of the buildings of the colonial era, which are characterized by large central courtyards surrounded by corridors and corridors. Its walls are made of Tapia, the mezzanine slab, beams and columns are made of wood, the roof is covered with Creole tile and its patios are made of mud bricks
.

In the Andean area, it is still very common to see constructions made of tapia, which are walls made of earth, for this they used the so-called wooden walls, which served as formwork, in the middle of them the earth was compacted and tamped, a feature that catches my attention of this type of construction is the considerable thickness of its walls, I have observed some walls whose thickness exceeds 50 cm, it is also a type of ecological construction and friendly to the environment.

These patios are surrounded by large and long corridors, where there are large rooms for the storage of coffee. Also around the courtyard is located the kitchen, the bathrooms, in the lower part the workers were housed and the family lived in the upper part.

As an engineering student, having the opportunity to visit these places is an enriching experience and a great learning experience, besides learning many things of general culture and history really interesting, which makes us think about how architecture and construction methods have evolved over the years and highlights the importance of preventive and corrective maintenance in the structures in order to preserve and extend their lifespan, so we can continue to enjoy these wonderful works. The only thing I regret about this visit, is having run out of battery to take other photographs , without a doubt, I invite you to visit this place if you are someday in this area of the world .

That colonial structure is certainly showing its age, but, wow! It makes the landscape a lot beautiful than normal as evidenced by the first photo, it is impressive enough to make heads turn.

The Hacienda La Victoria is certainly a Venezuelan cultural gem and must be conserved well for coming generations to experience. It's one of your country's national pride. In its current condition, it's an exemplary example of colonial architecture that teaches you to appreciate your architectural roots.
