Art share

avatar

Hello all, this is my first post in this community, I hope you are all feeling the wonderful flow of creativity. It has been a longstanding goal to be a professional non-starving artist. Life often takes the tolls of my time and obligations. so much so I pulled away from my work, but I am grateful to have the opportunity to share some sneak peeks at a future NFT project.

I stumbled into generative art by a fellow artist/degen who showed me the way to the tools. I often describe the process as whispers as one has to request the image via a well-crafted description.

I'm still learning but the effects are incredible over all but some hold that extra!!
thank you for your time
Dre

Hi @dredreams - I found your post via Listnerds.

Good luck with your goal of becoming a "non-starving artist"!

I had to google "generative art" to check out what it was... It didn't take much scrolling on the Wikipedia page to come across references to more familiar names to me, Brian Eno and Philip Glass.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generative_art

There's a stimulating set of questions at the bottom of that page. Here's one for you:

  1. What can we learn about art from generative art?

Initially, I felt like degenerate art was a bit of a sham in regards to the AI doing the art rather than the artist. I tried these programs and recognized the value of the tool and there is a certain finesse to using them. With that said I have seen some up and coming programs that adapt and learn so well they can create pieces so easily that it almost takes the joy out of art, for me that is. I mean if the AI is so good what happens to all the creators? At what point do the algorithms outperform the creatives in terms of cost and speed. There is no fire, sorrow, joy, or passion from a computer regurgitating images without a heart at the helm... I like these programs and what I produce but I am still on the fence of what it can become

Mind sharing links to the tools you used?
I dabbled with some AI art in the past... but the results were "less than impressive".

Hey thank you for your interest and tips? (as a newbie here I need a little help understanding it all)
Primarily I have been primarily using nightcafe as well deep dream generator. With some manual changes after the fact, there is another program I am not as familiar with but it is lost in my bookmarks. If I find it I will return

Re the token tips: In short, you earn tokens when someone tips you (or you can buy them on @hive-engine / https://hive-engine.com ) and when you have enough (each tipping token requires a different amount) you are able to call the bot and tip someone else with the token.
P.S. 99% of these tipping bots will comment with a link to the project info... so check each tips' comments for those.

Re the AI art tools: Thanks... will go check it out.

Wishing you all the best on this journey! I totally get the whole starving artist vibe. Keep going and I'd love to learn more about your process.

Thank you @therneau the starving artist was just a little humour, though with these markets i won't lie, I'm a little but I would love one day to work exclusively doing graphics and promos, NFTs both as the artist of a big project and a 1/1 and more. The process is both creative as it is a gamble. I find the more I get to know the program the more I can request, or sweet talk lol, my way into receiving a dreamy image close to what i have pictured in my mind.

It sounds like a very interesting process and I'm going to delve into it for some fun.

As for the current markets, its been a crazy ride. My business managed to get through the whole covid fiasco, then a fire burnt my suppliers production facility to the ground. We're still waiting for them... 8 months later 👀☹️

These are beautiful! What program do you use? I've been dabbling with NightCafe and having some fun with it, but I haven't mastered the art of an effective seed phrase. Thanks for sharing! !CTP !PIZZA #listnerds

Thank you!! I use night cafe as well as deep dream generator. I love the AI because I still feel like I am creating when I don't have the time to start something from scratch. This is some of my digital work

lol, I don't really have any artistic talent when it comes to composing an image, but I have an imagination that allows me to paint a picture with my words, so the AI stuff works fairly well in most cases, just a matter of figuring out how to use modifiers and stuff to more intentionally churn out something high-quality and well-composed.

I like the digital art! Reminds me of a watercolor painting with the blending and shadowing of different colors that you used, it's quite attractive! !CTP !PIZZA
