Splinterlands Diary 06.04.23 - Musa Saline & Isgald Vorst

Hello friends! I'm always excited about new cards, and the other day I got Musa Saline, the new legendary Water Elemental card, into my deck and started trying different combos.

I really like the fact that she has a pretty high speed and a great Scavenger ability, which allows her to pump her health at the expense of battlefield losses.

I tried it with gladiators in one of today's battles and it worked out really well!

So, my lineup:

PEMBROOK NYMPH

A summoner that allows you to use Gladius Edition cards in combat. Given the Are You Not Entertained rule, I wanted to use two cards and get an advantage over my opponent despite the low mana count.

TORRENT FIEND & FURIOUS CHICKEN

two free cards went into the first couple positions to give a head start on gladiators and a mage. not the most obvious move, but I thought it was a good way to give the gladiator a chance to pump up by attacking the enemy, and the mage a chance to boost his health at the expense of my losses.

ISGALD VORST

One of my favourite Water Elemental cards. Great at attacking weak enemy cards and, if successful, pumping up your parameters in the middle of a fight thanks to Bloodlust ability.

MUSA SALINE

Rather quick mage, with a good Scavenger ability.

ALFREDO

Finished the combo with this inexpensive archer, counting on him to be the "finishing off" and pumping up thanks to Bloodlust's ability.

His opponent had chosen the Earth element and at first I was a little scared of VENARI SCOUT and SCREECHING VULTURE level 4, which would have made a big difference with Opportunity's ability, plus he had FUNGUS FLINGER in his combo, which went Martyr and pumped some hellions out of the fight, but the fight went exactly the way I thought it would!

In the first round, my weak cards came out of the battle, pumping up MUSA SALINE's health, and the gladiator gained strength by destroying a couple of the opponent's cards.

In the second round, the unfortunate archer ALFREDO went out, but the quality advantage finally came my way, so my opponent didn't stand a chance in the 4th round :)

I definitely like this experiment with strategy and the appearance of gladiators in ranked battles is a treat!
