Splinterlands Diary 25.01.22 - Desert Dragon

Hi, Hive! Continuing to move diligently towards the Diamond League and today I'm playing Gold II and diligently building up my ranking.

I bought another Chaos Legion pack and was pleasantly surprised by General Sloan, Soul Strangler archer and... The legendary Desert Dragon!

Given the average amount of mana I put Desert Dragon in the first position, counting on its ability to attack again, destroying the opponent's card, increasing its attack Manticore, and for long-range attacks and damage recovery in the third position I put Goblin Psychic. The combination was completed by a nimble Regal Peryton.

My opponent put the fearsome Djinn Chwala in the first position, and supplemented it with long-range attacks from the awesome Zyvax Vuul archer, so when my Desert Dragon left the game I thought I was going to lose, but the Manticore did a great job with my opponent's cards and it was very cool!

After this battle I did the daily quest and completed it pretty quickly (three battles in a row with no neutral cards) and was rewarded with some DECs, two common cards and an epic Djinn Renova.

So that was my day in Splinterlands. While my battery is recovering I've increased my contribution to the PIZZA:DEC pool a bit, and as a CTP user I decided to check out their Listnerds project, which allows me to earn some money by reading advertisers' emails.

Hey @drunksamurai. Im a new player (@bt34). I haven't bought any cards yet and the only extra card I have is from completing daily quests. What would be your recommendation be to get started? Buy packs (and if so how many), or target specific individual cards?

Thanks in advance.

I think you should start buying Chaos Legion packs, get familiar with the game, and then develop a deck that best suits your playing style. For example, I prefer Earth and Death decks, but since Djinn Oshanuss I've been playing the Water deck a lot.

Thanks so much @drunksamurai! How many packs do you suggest I'd need to move up to bronze II?

Try 5 packs for start, and don't forget the potion bottles that increase the chance of gold and legendary cards.
