Getting dragged on Twitter

avatar

image832.png

I really wish I could get dragged on Twitter. I mean all over the place till I'm bleeding all over the social media platform.

I also wish twitter was a real place. As said by the wise O.G Dave Chapelle...Twitter is not a real place.

What if Elon buys it and crashes it as Mark did with Whatsapp a while back.

There has been so much outrage over people's comments about different stuff people said about what someone else said on Twitter and yet it's people playing pretend most of the time.

On Twitter, I find it hard to fit into who I am supposed to be.

I feel like I was destined to be a troll

Yes, I said it!! I am supposed to be out there hurting people's feelings because nobody ever cared about mine.

I've made so many jokes about my name being Ebingo but God, the real-life situations get to me more. I'll just show up to work with my scrubs that have my name on them and people will start legit laughing.

How the fuck am I supposed to stop that?

A pretty nurse I liked asked me if my name is a nickname...

And God, people are so fragile in society these days that people actually think it has slowed me down.

By my count, I get made fun of every day, probably from the day my parents decided that would be my name...But I'm only complaining on Hive and no place else.

So I'd be better off letting off some steam on Twitter but I can't cause I'm a doctor and if I'm a living joke I'm bringing down the profession.

A profession that is maybe 2,000 years old...that has managed to move one person's heart to another person's body...little me could end up bringing it down...HOW?!

Being dragged on Twitter

Yesterday I commented on the Nigerian Rapper MI's post and said that I didn't know who he was talking about when he said Africans should respect themselves...

My first big gig ever was in 2008 with Jay Z and Rihanna and Usher.. how I was treated that day taught me a valuable lesson.. them no go respect us.. until we respect ourselves

— M.I Abaga (@MI_Abaga) April 15, 2022

This is my normal behaviour, I come into conversations halfway not knowing the point of the conversation...

image.png

Someone's response hurt me...

He mean Hip hop artist , Idiot Ebingo

— Don b (@Donbrave92) April 16, 2022
I realise that the only reason this comment hurt was that I'm a doctor and I wasn't supposed to jump into the conversation like that...

But my friends know me and love me regardless of how well I jump into a conversation...Twitter doesn't give a fuck...and I shouldn't give a fuck too. But I do!!

Giving Drugs

I started giving morning drugs by 6 am in the morning and ended by 9 am.

3 hours standing and walking around the ward.

That comment would flash past my mind every time I moved from one patient to the other. I imagine if other M.I fans hopped in I'd be crying while giving drugs...like a bitch.

Twitter is realer than real life

To some extent, it feels like Twitter has become a realer place to me than real life where they make fun of my name every day!!!

I feel like this is the level I'm at...and If I'm going to make it to the next level I have to give even lesser fucks about what people like this think and be me.

Thanks

Thank you for reading to me rant as a comedy post.

have a lovely weekend!!

I struggle with this somewhat myself. I’m a real life troll, I think of it as kind of like the Andy Kaufman way of living. I’m an electrical engineer with over ten years designing automated test equipment for safety critical equipment (primarily train brakes). I love doing dumb shit. I think the realest friends are the ones who are intelligent enough to recognize feigned stupidity, but unfortunately “realest friends” are few and far between. Most people think the bit is who I really am, but I can’t bring myself to stop doing something I love so well! It helps screen out people who wouldn’t be good fits with me, but there’s always an element of fighting against myself - I find I am always tempted to show those who think the act is real, just who I really am - but always stop when I realize that their minds were made up long ago. It’s funny, I’ve created my own joy, and my own pain.

Nicely written, Kola, stay well!

This seems very neat. I'd love to read more about this though

Far...and its very painful having all these people misunderstand me. but its all good,

It’s funny, I’ve created my own joy, and my own pain.

I so totally feel you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Fair point. I’ve focused so much on flutes and arts, but I haven’t made an effort yet to share any engineering ideas or stories. I may try to do something to remedy that this week.

Thanks for the reply, Kola!

I can relate to this so much. It's just because sometimes some people take themselves too seriously dishing out cliche "wisdom" and "life lessons" that you just want to put them in their place. I kinda quit Twitter for the same reason, everyone there say the same thing basically as millions of others and pretend to be original.

Well, that is one of the many reasons to love twitter. It takes you out of your shell

I am still wondering what it is about your name that makes people make fun of you 🤔

Twitter? That space makes me shutter in fear. I can take jokes on Hive because I know the friends I have made over time mean well.. but I can't imagine being in that space and being able to take a joke.... I'll be forced to insult someone... 🤣🤣

You being a doctor is really putting a kinda restriction on you because you have a reputation to uphold. .... Sorry @ebingo 😔.

Ebingo...bingo...people are so callous...they don't care if I think their joke is dry.

Lol...if you insult people on Twitter be ready for the consequences...

Yeah...the profession is a real bummer.

Wait, I think I get it now.... The basically take away the "E" and call you by the rest... Oh my, it would really hurt 🤕.... I am sorry for how you have been treated. 😔

Thanks for bringing your rant here! I got suspended from Twitter for making a joke about slapping someone. In my reply to their email, I kindly asked them to just delete my account. They thanked me for my reply, and promised to review my appeal promptly. I replied that I never appealed or asked for a review, and then continued to troll their email bot for another 12 messages or so. They still haven't deleted my account.

I highly recommend having your Twitter account suspended. All the time I used to spend on Twitter, I now spend on Hive, and my life is much better for it. I'm wealthier, thinner, taller, better looking, and I even got to choose my own name!

Personally, I LOVE your name! You think people are laughing at you, but it's a perfect conversation starter! Perhaps all those people you see laughing are just laughing nervously to themselves, wondering how they could get your attention! If it were my name, I would tell people it's an acronym, and make up different funny things to say the letters stand for. For example... 'It's actually a short version of my royal title, Earl Brandford Ingersoll, Northern Garrison Officer.'

If people on Twitter insult you, consider it a compliment. Most of the time, it means you made them feel insecure about themselves. At best, Twitter is a just a crowd of people, and the intelligence of any crowd is the IQ of its dumbest member, divided by the total number of people in the crowd.

I hope to see more from you here, doctors always have funny stories to tell!

Lol...I'm definitely taking this advice...especially the Acronym one.

I don't even know how to fit in taking Twitter seriously into my life. I honestly have a lot of work and on Twitter I have to be someone else...that's too hard.

Thanks for stopping by and yes I do have a lot of funny stories...lol...I just need a safe space like this platform to express myself

Bruv, Twitter is a strange place. I get scared sometimes too.

I never want to troll or be a troll.

I feel like I would never recover

Twitter is a war zone!!! 🔥

The war mongers are always ready to devour!!! 📛

It's more like survival of the fittest!!!

People are there for vawulence (violence) not peace 😅.

They want war! They want to drag people! 😅

When you drop a comment or reply, if there's no way to respond or counter your comment, then the twitter war mongers will check your profile picture or username and if it is "yabable" they'll drag you along with it.

Most times I'm just there to get the trending news and I do less of comment for fear of being at the spotlight.

Great Post!

I feel you bro...but I'm going to still do my best to not care much about what people are saying or even thinking.

The higher you go in life the more people will criticise your every action.

True!
And you'll always have those who are ready to see your downfall

And those ready to drag...

It'll be well

I don't like twitter much because anyone can come at you for no reason. It's not a place for the feeble minded but it seems you've grown a tough skin though. You are doing well.

Ebingo! Is that your real name?
