Last year the weirdest thing happened in November, an AI chat Bot was released into the internet and for some weird reason, people lined up with it to chat with it. Millions of people in 5 days were enough to shut down the server of the site and update it, obviously, this technology functioned better than it was expected to. This was all after 2 attempts at working on the technology and making it more functional.

This bot had become unstoppable because not only was it providing answers, it was learning in the process. It had become a matter of ethics and morality and even the donor and adviser (Elon Musk) described the project as scary.

The ethical question surrounding this technology’s use is the fact that it can generate images and videos. Using this technology to generate fake images of people saying things they didn’t can be very controversial.

DALL-E 2 which is text-to-image AI, has been linked to Shutterstock (an image marketplace) so people can sell generated images putting image editors and illustrators out of business.

All this seems like new development and you can’t make bread without breaking eggs (I'm sure that’s not how that statement goes). But all fine and dandy right? Wrong!

Microsoft is about to make the biggest comeback with its search engine. Binge with their new plan of adding ChatGPT. This technology may be released by March. The sources of this information so far have not been clear but in a blog post, they talked about adding Dall-E2 (by Open AI) into Bing.

So far OpenAI and Microsoft have not said anything about this.

In 2019, OpenAI and Microsoft had been working on projects to make an Articifical intelligence supercomputer.

This would be a pivotal moment for Binge given that its main competition (Google) has not been making record numbers and its slow revenues are very significant.

Even though the OpenAI technology needs work, it is already becoming a threat to the industry's function as google has now flagged it with a “code red”. The AI will be generating information itself and it can make consumers react abnormally to this change.

This however has not stopped Google from working on its chatbot and the truth is that the world knows how useful this technology can be.

I stand with Elon to say this is very scary and we need to watch what happens in the future. How are children learn when they have the power of the world in their pocket? How will we know if what we see on the screen is real or not?

But let me know what you think in the comment section below, I’m eager to know your thoughts.
