John Mayer sang this song and he was directing it towards those who promise change but are never able to achieve it.

He talked about pretty much every element of harmful governance. I feel like in the End Sars protest that happened last year where people were killed, me and all my friends were all misunderstood too.

They've already said so much wrong about our generation it was a matter of time before we took to the streets to fight the powers that shouldn't be.

The government of today in my country really doesn't carry its people in mind when making its decisions.

One time they wanted to reduce doctors' salaries to $30. They don't pay for certain occupations. For over 4 years my primary school teachers have not been paid.

They steal from us regularly and with no regard and that's all I think about when I listen to that song.

I remember when The protest happened we thought things would change until they brought out guns and started fighting at protesters. A government against its people.

In the song, he discussed the media being influenced by the government too. During the protest last year many New stations were not covering all the aspects of the situation. Some had already taken sides on who they thought was right and who was wrong.

He said, "When you trust your television, what you get is what you got cause when tey own the information, they can bend it all they want"

John Mayer cantó esta canción y la estaba dirigiendo hacia aquellos que prometen un cambio pero nunca pueden lograrlo.

He hablado de prácticamente todos los elementos de la gobernanza dañina. Siento que en la protesta de End Sars que ocurrió el año pasado, donde mataron a gente, yo y todos mis amigos también fuimos incomprendidos.

Ya han dicho tanto mal sobre nuestra generación que era cuestión de tiempo antes de que saliéramos a las calles a luchar contra los poderes que no deberían serlo.

El gobierno de hoy en mi país realmente no tiene en cuenta a su gente a la hora de tomar sus decisiones.

Una vez quisieron reducir los salarios de los médicos a 30 dólares. No pagan por ciertas ocupaciones. Durante más de 4 años, mis profesores de primaria no han cobrado.

Nos roban con regularidad y sin consideración y eso es todo en lo que pienso cuando escucho esa canción.

Recuerdo que cuando ocurrió la protesta pensamos que las cosas cambiarían hasta que sacaron armas y empezaron a pelear contra los manifestantes. Un gobierno contra su pueblo.

En la canción, también hablé de que los medios de comunicación están siendo influenciados por el gobierno. Durante la protesta del año pasado, muchas estaciones nuevas no cubrieron todos los aspectos de la situación. Algunos ya habían tomado partido sobre quién pensaban que estaba bien y quién estaba equivocado.

Él dijo: "Cuando confías en tu televisor, lo que obtienes es lo que tienes porque cuando eres dueño de la información, ellos pueden doblarla todo lo que quieran".
